Stars/Sids and Approaches not showing up in route

I'm having a problem with the FMC.  I load the plane up using the KSEA ready for take-off flight provided with the plane.  Programming the FMC, all is fine until I start selecting STARS, SIDS and approaches.  I can make the selections in the Dep/Arr pages - but they are not updating into the route. No Star/Sid listed on the Route page. Now waypoints on the Legs page.

I'm not the only one having this problem looking down the board.

Any help?   I can have my FMC programmed on the another company in about three minutes, putting in the navaids, the airways etc.

Thanks.

Colin

I had the same problem when trying to select an approach int KPSP. After adding waypoints manually i figured out why it wouldnt add the whole approach. One of the waypoints was "not found in database", even tho it is in the airac, i even double checked the file to see if it was there. I have no idea why the plane wouldnt accept it tho. This unfortunately causes me to fly my other paywares more often than the cs757 Sad I hope somebody figures out why this happens, if its possible to fix without a service pack

Are we the only two experiencing this?

If you two put your route info in here, others could try it and see if the same problems are encountered.

My route was

KPHX BXK2.BLH BLH.SBONO1 KPSP

Then as the approach for KPSP I chose RNAV13RY, but you'll get the same result with RNAV13RZ as well.

Hi wims.

I entered your plan in the FMC and the result was the same as yours. BUT. I had to enter the waypoints/altitudes/speed(s) according to the Approach plate. I did not get the "not found in database" error that you got. All the waypoints listed on the approach plate where in the database. I think I saw a post where you said it was WASAK that was not in the database. Is that correct?

I'm using the latest Navigraph update (CS_1007) for the 757/767. Other than entering the waypoints/altitudes/speeds manually. It's fine.

I'm puzzled as to why you get the database error.

Yes, that was indeed strange. Just redid the process and the FMC lets me enter the WASAK waypoint as well. No idea why it wouldnt let me do that the first time.

Perhaps you spelled it wrong. I've done that way too many times!

Those altitudes for the waypoints on the approach plate seem very low. I felt like I was being a "cowboy" and trying to skim the treetops! LOL

So, is this a glitch in the route or a glitch in the FMC?  You shouldn't need to do this manually.  Can you set up routes in the FMC that don't require manual entry of the SIDS/STAR waypoints etc?

I don't think it's a glitch in anything. To quote many atheletes "it is what it is". The adding or deleting of waypoints depends on what runway you
are using. For KTPA there is STAR called FOOXX2 that has waypoints that take the plane all the way to the ILS Approach for 36L. But if you are doing a ILS aproach for 18R there is about 4-5 waypoints that must be deleted because they are not needed. I am flying right now to KMCO and I had to add three waypoints to BAIRN2 STAR becaue I am landing on 17L not 35R. This occurs frequently so it is nothing out of the ordinary.
