Here's a repaint I did that shows what the USAF KC-X  winner could look like if Boeing wins.

I have just uplaoded it to www.avsim.com and it should be available shortly.

Mr. Dave Sweetman,

Could you, please, give me a filename for the download as I'm not seeing it listed under your name or the FSX Repaints section, etc. on AVSIM.

Thanks!

BTW: Looks awesome! Cool

Thank you very much.&&Sincerely,&&From,&&        James F. Chams&&

Hi James.

This is the actual download location for the file Jame. You just might need to log into AVSIM first, then paste this link to get the file directly.
http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=144697

I actually found it by doing a search in AVSIM file library for "Sweetman" and then sorting the results by date. It then came up as the second file in the list.

Hope this helps.

It's really a beautiful livery, but I must be doing something wrong in following Mr Sweetman's directions. The ACE indicates the installation works but, when I try to load the aircraft in the virtual cockpit view, the screen is mostly black, except the gauges show up (no panel or outside scenery, just displays instruments, compass, etc.).  Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. I don't think this is a tech support issue with the Captain Sim product or, for that matter, with the livery pack. Undecided

Hi TexxasAL

Thanks for the feedback.  I've tracked it down ot the fallback config file.  The one I included in the kit is from an older repaint so it's wrong.  It passed my test as it was the correct one.

What you can do is copy the texture.cfg file from one of the stock aircrft and paste it into the KC-X repaint.

I'll reissue an updated version of the files.

Sorry for the inconvieniance.

I too had this issue...
Thanks for fixing it with this version on www.AVSim.com :

USAF, Boeing KC-767, KC-X (Version 1.1)
HERE: http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=144733

EDIT: The only thing I want to say is that its still getting issues...  Embarrassed

Sorry if peeps are getting miffed with me on this one.

I have tracked the fault to the ACE utility.  I have included the correct fallback file with the repaint.  The problem is when the repaitn is installed, the ACE utility puts a stock fallback file for a 767-300.  This one just points to the base texture folder.

The one the KC767 needs should point to the 767-300 base texture folder.

What you need to do is copy the texture.cfg file from one of the other KC767's, or the one that I have included with the repaint.

Any other problems let me know.

I'll also contact CS to see if this can be fixed in the next update.

Sorry again for all this hassle.

Dave

Dave,
Your efforts are most appreciated by all. It certainly isn't your problem if a utility has "a previously undocumented operational feature". The copy works fine, the aircraft looks great and flies quite nicely.
Thanks again. Smiley

I had the same issues. All I did was what Dave said to do. I copied the texture.cfg file from the CS_KC-767A\texture.iaf and pasted AND overwrote the texture.cfg file in the CS_KC-767A\texture.KC-X folder. No more problems for me.

I have not downloaded the latest updated one yet, because I don't need to. I can. and will, update the original download by just adding the same texture.cfg (that I used to fix it) to the zip file. How easy is that? Wink
