VOR/DME approaches

Hi all,

When shooting a VOR approach I tune the VOR to the airport VOR (in this case at LEAL) in the NAV RAD page and enter the appropriate radial (280) for the runway in question. So far so good. But I have to intercept the radial manually. Is the  767 capable of capturing the radial automatically to line the a/c up with the runway vector? If so, how? Have I missed something?

Thanks in advance for any input.

tune that frequency/course in the ILS section of the EIACS. Use the LOC switch in the autopilot panel to intercept.

According to Mike Rays "Unofficial Boeing 757/767 Checkride Manual":
"As incredible as it sounds, the 757/767 will NOT TRACK the VOR. There is no AFDS capability to fly a VOR approach other than using the MCP and HEADING SELECT KNOB or LNAV."

Greetings

Hi
Try this, A non precision approach

This guy does it on a LD767 so we should. It gets a little complex, but the end section is for a 767 with FMC. If he can we can

Thanks gentlemen,

If Mike Ray says it can't be done in the 757/767 that says it I guess. But I do agree - it seems hard to believe.

taech, thanks for the informative link. We await the 767-400, but did this series have the AFDS capability? The 747-400 did I'm almost certain. Anyone know for sure?

Regards
Gareth
