Altitude hold does not disengage on final

Hi experts,

I just flew what I thought was going to be a perfect flt(IAD-ATL) using ASA(no violent wind shifts), AC descended at TD as advertised, FMS said 'drag required'(it was).

Intercepted the LOC for 27R at 2700, approach selected, LOC and GS in PFD, GS at top-moved to center, gear down, BUT the alt hold light never went  out, alt hold NEVER disengaged.

Any thoughts? This is not my first flt in the 757.
And the another company 767 works fine.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you had your proper ILS freq and front course dialed in.  You didn't specifically mention hitting APP.  That's what is going to take over and follow the glideslope.  Of course, you can see the glideslope arrow moving down to center and then toward the bottom without actually following it, so that's what was happening.  Glideslope is managed reliably for me, as long as I intercept from below.  I use LOC first, then APP once I'm confident I'm tracking.  Sorry if all this is old news, but hard to guess what went wrong.

Tim,

Thanks for checking in. Yes, I hit APP after the LOC capture; perhaps this is what went wrong. This proc works with the other 767 but maybe the CS is coded to to use LOC until GS capture?

I guess I'll try again.

Also check that the altitude set is within the capture altitude for the relevant ILS runway for the G/S.

Thanks to you both. Got it to work. Do you know how to load into FSX all the KATL stars? CS is missing an important one or two.
