Problems with knob selectors

Hi,

I tried the manual before turning here for additional help (and wasn't successful with the manuals):

When I try using my mouse wheel to increase or decrese altitude, no matter which way I turn the wheel (up or down), the selection in the Altitude MCP decreases. Also, this problem occurs with other knobs in the VC of the 767 and 757.

How can I go about resolving this? I already tried assigning a different function to my mouse wheel but wasn't successful. It's a Microsoft IntelliMouse currently set to Flip 3D.

Help appreciated!

Regards, Patrick

If it works like the 757, don't use your mousewheel.  I know it takes a little getting used to, but there are conventions for the knobs you'll get eventually get.  Left click / Right click on knobs... or left click on the left and right side of windows (heading, altitude)

Annoying at first, but becomes second nature.

I have to right-click 260 times to get Flight Level 360 computed on the MCP (10.000 Default + 26000 feet).

Please someone tell me that wasn't meant to be this user-UNfriendly or I will never purchase CS products again.

The increments allow only an increase in selected altitude in 100 feet steps. This is a pain: Flying by ATC instructions is only possible by pausing the Simulation.

what a joke!

Again, have you tried holding down your left click on the right side of the altitude window?  It should repeat (unless they have changed it from the 757) although it does not accelerate.  I'm not talking about the knob here.

Alternatively, you could also use the mousewheel on the altitude selector display when the hand shows the plus sign to increase the altitude, and vice versa. This trick will also work on the other selector displays.

Put the mouse pointer directly over the number displan and move the mouse one way or the other.
This works best and will work for speed, heading or altitude.
