No Engine Sounds Captain Sim Pro Pack

Hi all,

I just purchased the Captain Sim Pro pack for the C-130. Everything is working well except for the engine sounds. I have tried cycling out of the VC to the external view etc etc but I still don't have any sound. Another interesting thing is that when I select the aircraft in the FSX main screen the music just stops playing.

I can hear when I click on switches, but no engine sounds at all.

Here are my system specs:

|Core i7 920@3.2ghz|ASUS P6T Deluxe mobo|6GB G.Skill DDR3 1600|MSI 260 GTXOC 896|SoundBlaster X-FI Xtreme Gamer|500GB WD "Black" HD|Rosewill 850w PSU|Track IR4|Viewsonic 26 Inc LCD & Dell 2105 FP| Windows Vista 64 Ultimate

Hi,

Try updating the driver's for your sound card if you have not already got the latest ones. I believe there is an issue with them with regards to the C130, but I'm new here myself so don't know what the issues actually were. However, I'm pretty sure it related to the family of sound cards you (and I actually) have.

If you do find out a fix for the problem please post back to say what that fix was as I'm very close to buying the C130 myself and would appreciate avoiding any such problems.  Wink

The only fix that I have found so far was to replace the sounds and the sound gauge file that came with the product with a free one from the avsim file library. Unfortunatly, that file library is offline and has been since avsim was hacked. If anybody has those files, please let us know.

Others have submitted support tickets for this same issue and they were told that this was going to be resolved in the next service pack which has no ETA to my knowledge and some of those posts are almost a year old.

The sound issue is really the only complaint that I have. The airplane itself is absolutely fantastic with a great VC, lots of systems to play with and this aircraft is my new favorite. I own another company and a bunch of Flight1 products and I find myself in the C130 for almost all of my flights now. Hopefully I will have some engine sounds soon.
