New Version 2.2, A/P Issue...
Jun 8th, 2009 at 12:35am

I had an issue last night while tryin out the new 2.2 version that I didn't have with the prior version: The autopilot toggles wouldn't budge!!

Before, I would take off and set my trim and then proceed to flip on the auto pilot switches to start a controlled ascent to my set altitude via the pitch wheel. Also controlling heading...

Now I can't...  Undecided   ... I began the same climb and went to flip the autopilot switches and they wouldn't move! Neither would the mode dial... Any ideas???

Thanks!
Robert

That's odd, mine are fine...  Hydraulics had pressure, right?

Hmmm, I'm sure that hydraulics had pressure but you've got me second guessing myself now... I will check the next time I get in the Cockpit...  ...One thought, would I have been able to take off at all without hydraulics?

Thanks!
Robert

Yeah, good point.

I don't really know on this one...  Can't think of anything, at least.

Were your yaw dampers off, if so this might be the reason.  In the B727 at least 1 yaw damper MUST be on for the autopilot to engage.

Ah ha...! I haven't had a chance to get into the cockpit yet but I bet that's it then. I don't remember flipping the yaw dampers on my last flight...

Thanks! Gonna give that a shot tonight!

After testing this last night I don't think this is the issue.  On my 727 the autopilot will engage with the yaw dampers off and on.  In real life this wouldn't happen.  Make sure all of your flight control switches are on.  If this is not it try re-installing the 727.

Best regards,
Robert

AS DEVEREIII says, Make sure your three hydraulic switches are on.That did the trick for me.
