Whats the situation on posting repaints on the web(Avsim or Flight Sim.com), Ive made a C130 C3K out of textures from the C130 C1K ,and altered the textures to represent Xv290 in the older grey colours that they were flying in.
Are the textures copywrited or can I post them on the web and say they are Captain Sims original textures.
I have contacted Captain Sim but a day later Ive had no reply.
I am now working on a canadian First Air C130-30 using the UN textures that were supplied in extra pack 2.

To be honest I'm not sure.  As the textures are adapted from the CS originals I could not be 100% sure about the copyright situation.  Even though I make all mine from scratch I still give credit to the CS team because it is there repaint kit I am using.
I do not think there will be any issues using them.

Sorry I can not be more help.

I have just uploaded three repaints for FSX to the CS server.

Heavy Lift L100-30
RAF C-130J Mk 5
RAF C-130J Mk 4

All should be available soon.

What texture format are you using for your aircraft.
I am having trouble getting the original textures to show up after repainting them.I am using the latest FS repaint version 2 to repaint the aircraft but when I select the aircraft to fly only a few of the textures show up and when I alter the other textures tooo match the ones that show up I get nothing.

I am replying to my own posting here!! in case anyone else has the same problem.
It was not the texture files that were at fault, the program was to blame.
When Flight Simulator was started and Captain Sims C130 was selected the rotating model was showing textures as if they were behind a see through dark(as Sunglasses) screen and the wings were not showing any textures at all,I resolved the issue by uninstalling and reinstalling the Captain Sim C130X base pack and all seems ok now.
As a matter of interest how many times can I uninstall and reinstall the products without requiring a order number??

Hi Chazzer

Sorry for the delay in getting back to this post.  Not being able to see the forum eveyday makes me miss things.

I always use DXT3.  It give the best alround preformance over texture quality.  The best thing to do is convert your BMP images to DXT3 using "Image tool" which comes as part of the MS FS9 SDK.

Here is a direct link to the package.

http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/f/f/4ffb2a54-cb13-4c3d-996d-7e7bd86b884...

Download it and and give it a try.

Hope this helps
