TOLD Card Calculator application

Hello,

I have uploaded to AVSIM an application I developed for the community.
It is a TOLD (Take-off and Landing Data) Card calculator that will accept user input of enviromental conditions and aircraft configuration and compute various important performance parameters.

A brief overview:

1. User interface modelled after the actual C-130 TOLD card
2. User input of Pressure Altitude, OAT, Runway Slope, Wind, Fuel/Cargo weight, runway heading/length,runway condition reading/runway surface covering.
3. Computations for Minimum predicted torque, Take-off factor, critical field length, ground and air minimum control speeds, Take-off and approach/threshold/touchdown speeds, obstacle clearance speed, gross weight.
4. Extensive HELP file detailing application operation and C-130 performance foundamentals.
5. Checklist section, that will display a checklist for each phase of the flight

Hopefully, this program will address the lack of performance tables (especially take-off and landing speeds) for the CS C-130.

The program is freeware. There are no copyright claims so fell free to distribute it, disasemble it, modify, include in collections etc. Source code can be provided on request.

Future versions will hopefully include the ability to print the card, more computations, a weight-and-balance worksheet and other features. Suggestions are more than welcomed.

To download click on this link : http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=91970 or search the AVSIM library using "TOLD Card Calculator" as a keyword.

Finally, I would like to thank:

Mr Evangelos Chasiotis, of the Hellenic Virtual Air Coordination Center. He practically co-developed the application with me (provided numerous suggestions and did extensive beta testing). Many of the features found in this application are his ideas. Thanks!

Mr Chris Carter, Kyprianos Biris, Emmanuel Stefanakis and Dimitrios Tzikas for their assistance with beta testing.

Regards,

PS For support see the Help file distributed with the application. For suggestions etc you may use this thread (I suppose CS has no objections).

Hi,

this looks like you need to register this .ocx. As far as I know (I am far from a windows expert...)this is a windows component (at least for WinXP).

Try the following:

go to Start --> Run...

type regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\mscomctl.ocx

Then, try running tha application again.

If this does not resolve the program please let me know. I have an idea what might be causing this (the "tab" selectors on the top of the interface) and I might be able to prepare a specialized version without them for you.

Pls let me know

regards

Okay everybody:-) It was my lack of computer knowledge. Now I see, that Calc works perfect.
Absolutely "must have" for all C-130 simmers!

Spiros hi,

I tried your application and it does work perfectly. I don't know how much accurate the calculations are ( comparing with smp 777 doc ), but " having something is better than nothing". Very good job.
Congratulations!!!
