Zippy, sorry I don't know the answer either, but I can offer comfort in that I experience the same thing.  If misery likes company, then there are two of us.  Scenery regen (?) if thats the correct term, is very slow.  All of this is new to me - not experienced before, thus assume its the add on.  Cap't Sim, if you are reading, any explanation?
Thanks, SD

Just a thought...I also use an Nvidia Card...try turning down your mip level to five....make sure that if your FS antialiasing is off, that is turned on in your settings for your video card in Display in your Control Panel in Windows.  I set mine to 4X AA and the AT filtering also to 4.  I have no issues with FPS or blurry textures with the C-130......

I use an ATI card 256mb mem, and have with some liveries the same. By pressing the ALT key on the keyboard, waiting till the menubar popsup, pressing ALT again, and all textures are clear with me. Maybe this will work for you too.

Zippy, I’m running FS 9 with similar hardware and seriously doubt that your main problem is in your FS 9 settings, although, I agree with “Old City’s” recommendation of turning off your antialiasing and setting your MIP at 4-5. I suggest you tweak your graphics card settings. Although I’ve never experienced a clarity problem with any aircraft, I have experienced less than pristine scenery or the “blurries”. Try adjusting your 3D Nvidia card setting by moving the slider to the extreme right to “Quality” then select “Use my preference emphasizing Quality”. You may experience some reduction in frame rate, but with your hardware I doubt it will adversely affect performance. Hope this helps. Ziggy
