Repaint Kit
Dec 8th, 2005 at 11:50am
Print Post
I have just downloaded the repaint kit from both US and Euro servers. When I open the file named "C130_1_T" I keep getting a "undefined error occured - 565."
I am using Paint shop pro 7. I can open any other repaints with no problems at all.
Just wanted to check that the problem is at my end and if anyone else has the same error.

Thanks

The Repaint Kit is Photoshop compatible only, we do not have Paint Shop installed that's why we do not support any issues with it. There were the same reports from people. We had e-mail from one of our customers that he had upgraded to PaintShopProX and although he received an error, he was able to open the PSD and complete his repaint.

Where is the re-paint kit located? Do I get it through ACE or can I get it from a direct download I am at work now so I can't check the ACE? I have been watching the download section and have not seen the kit, only the 727 and Mig-21?

Smiley OK, the very-very last time we answer the question which is answered in our Tech Support Section (namely here: http://www.captainsim.com/cgi-bin/kb.pl?qid=371).

You can find the "Repaint Kit" here:  Start->Programs->Captain Sim->Legendary C-130->Repaint Kit.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I have tried the PSD without success. Not to worry. I'll make a new PSD with an existing paint scheme.
Thanks anyway

Well. I have just give a trial version of Photoshop a try with the repaint kit.
Boy now I know why you use it. 100 times easier to use than Paint Shop pro.
I can open all files with no problems. Thanx Captain for the info.

I use Paint Shop Pro and was having the same exact problems with that 565 error but found a simple and effective solution. You will need the freeware software called "GIMP" available at http://www.gimp.org/ ; After you have it installed use it to open the paint kit PhotoShop files and then RESAVE them as Photoshop files overwriting the original files. After you do this you will be able to open them with Paint Shop Pro, at least it works great for me. Hope that helps.
