Boeing 707-300 United Airlines Livery

I want to know why it is that out of nearly 200 liveries on Captain Sim's livery section, there is no United Airlines livery for the Captain Sim 707-300 for FSX. I've looked everywhere and cannot find one and there is no reason it should be this hard to find. United Airlines flew many 707s back in the day but there is not one United Airlines livery to be found. The only one I can find is the United Airline livery for FS9, but not for FSX. Does anyone know where I can find a United Airlines livery for the Captain Sim 707-300 for FSX?

The United Airlines livery for the Legendary 707 (FS9) can be used for the 707 Captain (FSX), but you need to make some additional changes to the aircraft.cfg file, and also add a texture.cfg file in the UA livery folder for he 707 (you can copy & paste the texture.cfg file from any other livery folder that uses it into the UA livery folder).

This has been explained in the forum here (https://www.captainsim.org/forum/csf.pl?num=1383898760/17#17). I haven't done it in a long time, so I'm not sure that the BMP files are good enough (or can be used) on their own without being converted into DDS files.

Note. The link to the John Travolta Qantas V-Jet in the post I linked above requires you to login to dropbox to download it (only if you want it). I'm surprised it's still available because I haven't done anything with dropbox in years (and the emai account I used back then no longer exists).

HI Mark,

Thanks for your help. I did tried the steps "converting FS9 BMP textures to DDS textures" from the manual but they didn't work, until I read this post. I don't think the bmp textures will work in FSX because FSX uses DDS format for all its textures. When I selected my aircraft in the Selection screen, only the wings were textured but the rest was black. The problem was that I did not name the Texture in the aircraft.cfg with the same name as the texture folder the textures were in. It still looked dark and I can barely see the textures on the model airplane in the aircraft selection screen. Then I placed a texture.cfg file into the texture folder as was stated here. The textures work now. But there was another problem. On the aircraft selection screen, the image only showed a blank picture with a question mark. The reason is because the thumbnail image was named Liberty.jpg instead of thumbnail.jpg.
