Fix 1.3.2 for the 777/764 WorldlinerRS Mod
Apr 20th, 2023 at 2:56pm
Print Post
Captains,
As you are probably aware, the 'WorldlinerRS Compatibility Mod for Captain Sim B777 B767' is no longer supported by the mod developer, so the mod has stopped working with the newer versions of the 777 and 764.
As we had received MANY requests to do something, we've decided to fix the mod.

This mod fix version 1.3.2 provides compatibility ONLY with the 1.3 version of the 777-200ER GE, -300ER GE, 777F and 764.
WON'T work with outdated marketplace versions, and any PW, RR, LR variants.

1. Make sure you are on the 777/764 1.3.
2. Download and install the mod as usual.

IT'S A COMPLETE MOD SO ALL PREVIOUS MODS MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE INSTALLATION.

If you experience any issues, do complete reinstall of the 777/764.

Changelog:
1.3.2
- engine fans animation fixed

1.3
- Pedestal radio displays fixed
- Numerous Visibles (including sunshades) fixed

Does this fix also repr Boeing777-200LR Worldliner???
If not why is it called Boeing777-200Lr Worldliner in marketplace msfs.

Just installed this revised version.  It worked flawlessly on 777-300ER GE115B but not on the 777-300 PW4000 though.
!
Thanks for editing the mod CS!

follow the video of how it is tested on the 777-300

I hosted it on mega.nz the video of how the animation of the engines is, without the MOD it works normally

yes, I already did that, it's already in the newest version that the original 777 was released, I added the MOD that was updated and this is how the engines do not have animation, if you remove the MOD it works perfectly

Also, there are certain textures that will shut down your graphics card stating it's overheating or overclocked.  There's definitely an issue with CS

the radio panels only turn on if you press CTRL+E, otherwise when starting at the gates they don't turn on.
they should turn on normally when the batteries are activated.
this is the only thing left to be fixed

Hello,
just so you know when I spawned at the gate both of my GE773 and 764 had a radio panel blacked out, and it was still turned off even after turning the battery on.
On the other hand, when you spawn on the runway radio panel  works just fine.
If you could fix it that world really appreciate it Smiley

Captains,
As you are probably aware, the 'WorldlinerRS Compatibility Mod for Captain Sim B777 B767' is no longer supported by the mod developer, so the mod has stopped working with the newer versions of the 777 and 764.

Thank you CS so much for making this indespensible mod up and running again. Please try to keep this mod always updated and in sync with MSFS updates. If possible please develop this mod further to include features.

Thanks again !

Regards

Hi All - regarding the radios not working -

If you have the Honeycomb Alpha yoke, you must turn on both battery and avionics switches for the radios to work.

I also discovered the switches on the Bravo unit in front of the throttles control exterior lights, along with a couple of light switches on the Alpha unit.

Problems - I cannot switch on the flight director while on the ground.  I cannot engage TOGA or the autothrottle.  The plane does not track LNAV properly, and VNAV is really wonky.

Any ideas about the FD switch, LNAV/VNAV problems?

Thanks,
Jim

Sooooo, this mod broken again? Have a fresh install of the 777F and download of the mod through this site and seems to just hang in the loading screen forever now :/

I guess with the end of the mod creator support I'm glad I only grabbed the 777F but kind of a bummer, would have been nice to have it working and being able to justify getting the other 777's and the 767

I've been battling with this for days, tried fresh installs and keep getting met with the same error, white radios and sun visors in the windows. I'm stumped and fed up it's my only way of getting my 777 fix in msfs.

horizon sim have hinted that they are looking at putting time back into the 777 mod, they have said " no promises" but the fact they are again looking at it is exciting news. Hopefully they can get the 777 working again. I do hope that captain sim decides to help them in their endevour.

Please god....just make it so. No offense to you, but their mods made all of your planes wayyyy more usable and the simbrief integration with "salty" systems was soooooooo huge.

Your models are great, no complaints, but Horizon basically made these usable in a higher function than just "arcade flying".

Again, not trying to be offensive or sound like I'm talking down, but as someone who only owns the 777F, I would have already pulled the trigger on your 767 and the 777-300ER if Horizon hadn't discontinued the mod.

Please work with them and hash out whatever went down. :/ I literally just stare at my 777F in sim now because it's use is flying is dead now :/

I found a fix that makes the three Com frequency displays display properly. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

This fix works loading the aircraft at the gate or ramp.  No need to press Cntrl-E.  It works for me, and it may work for you.  If not, or these changes cause other problems, you can just restore the unmodified files.

On my setup, the frequencies are all visible and swapping the standby frequency for the active frequency on each of the three com channels works.

You need to have the files contained in wlrs-captainsim-boeing_XoPct_CS1.3.2.zip (Salty)installed in your community folder (you don't need the ones for aircraft you don't have installed).  The link is available at the beginning of this thread.

I have the 777-200ER GE and 777-300ER (GE engines) purchased from this site.  I don't own other versions but this fix might work for them too.

FOR THE 777-200ER GE:

Start in the folder:
wlrs-captainsim-boeing_XoPct_CS1.3.2\wlrs-captainsim-b772-ge90\SimObjects\Airpla
nes\CS_B777-200ER_GE90B

The two files you need to modify can be edited with Notepad.
FIRST, MAKE A BACKUP OF Apron.flt by copying it to a safe place outside the community folder.

Open Apron.flt with Notepad.

Find the section [Avionics.0]

The first entry under this heading is:
Comm1Active=122.800

The last entry is:
AvionicsSwitch=False

Delete the ENTIRE SECTION., from the [Avionics.0] entry all the way down to AvionicsSwitch=False

Save the file.  Make sure the saved file has the same name and stil ends in .flt

SECOND, in the same folder, locate the subfolder Model and open it.

MAKE A BACKUP OF m772_201_interior.xml by copying it to a safe place outside the community folder.

Open m772_201_interior.xml with Notepad.

Search for
  B777_Com
(You will find three entries, one for each Com panel, each in a line that looks like this:
  <PANEL_NAME>B777_Com</PANEL_NAME>)

Carefully change "B777_Com" to "B747_8_Com" (without the quotes).

Be careful not to make any other changes; even an extra  ".  "," or ";" can mess up the entire file.  That's why you need a backup.

Save the file.  Make sure the saved file has the same name and still ends in .xml.

MODIFYING THE 777-300ER the folder to edit is:
wlrs-captainsim-boeing_XoPct_CS1.3.2\wlrs-captainsim-b77w-ge90\SimObjects\Airpla
nes\CS_B777-300ER_GE115B

The apron.flt file has the same name, and the model folder file name is m773_305_interior.xml)

SOMETIMES THE COM FREQUENCY DISPLAYS GO BLANK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FLIGHT.  CONTROL-E FIXES THIS FOR ME, and since the engines are already running and everything else is already turned on, it doesn't cause any problems.

I have a problem with AP activation here...

Whenever I activate the Autopilot after Take Off (Engage TOGA pre arm LNAV/VNAV or LNAV/FLCH etc) the system is drastically lowering the nose as it resets the trim somehow and then tries slowly to counteract.

This leads to dives every time I engage the AP system.

Anyone with similar issues?

Comm1Active=122.800

The last entry is:
AvionicsSwitch=False

Although this will work fine. Another Workaround is to simply add the AvionicsSwitch=True to the Apron.FLT file and save it. All radios and transponder screens show as working Smiley

Not tested on a flight however!

Nevermind, still had to use Ctrl E to get the engines started.
I'll keep digging

I have never had to use Ctrl-E to start the engines from the gate; I just follow the normal engine start procedure.  My fix is meant only to fix the blanked-out comm screens.

When I set AvionicsSwitch=True the frequencies are displayed but they can only be modified for Comm 1 and they only swap from standby to active in Comm 1.

Fair enough. I must've missed something on startup as that's working.

I'm not a dev so clutching at straws to make it work xD

Hi,

I got a problem with the B772 with the GE engines and the Worldlinerrs mod.

When im in flight and maintaining an Altitude and a low airspeed the Aircraft has to pitch up about 10 degrees to maintain its altitude.

Does anyone know ho to fix this?

Why are you flying at such a low airspeed?  It is normal for the plane to pitch up at such a low speed without any degree of flaps extended.   If you go much slower with no flaps you will stall.  10,000 feet is not a normal cruise altitude.  I'm not sure what you are trying to do.

right, the Situation is Not Realistic  at all, but the Problem also shows up at Short final.
The Aircrafts Pitch is again at is at about 10 degrees with Full Flips extended, a normal landing Speed and a normal landing weight, while the Fpv is on the horizon.
When i pitch down to about 2 degrees i get a descend rate of -2000fpm, which i dont think is normal

No, this is not normal.  Descent rate is normally around 700 fpm, pitch around 2-3 degrees -- certainly not 10!
Please let me know:
1) Are you using the WorldlinerRS Mod Fix 1.3.2 (available at top of this thread)?
2) What is the gross weight of the aircraft and how many pounds of fuel do you have?
3) What is your airspeed on final?

Thank you for your fast answer,

I dont have the exact weights, cause im not at Home, but i can tell you that i had about 5% of fuel left on landing and no extra weight( Passengers or Cargo onboard). I will try to recreate that Flight to give you the exact Numbers .

Yes, im using the WorldlinerRs Mod 1.3.2

My airspeed at Final Approach was 140kt with 000/0 Wind

The air speed is if anything a little high, given how empty the aircraft is.  But if it were going too fast on approach for its weight, it would pitch down, not up.

I am wondering if it would fly better with full passenger load -- maybe the aircraft doesn't behave realistically when nearly empty of payload.

A screen shot of the Weights page would be helpful.

I assume you are using the -200ER GE version.  Do you have all three folders showing up in the Community folder:
wlrs-captainsim-b772-ge90

wlrs-captainsim-boeing-base

wlrs-captainsim-boeing-behavior

(as well as the CS 772 base file, captainsim-aircraft-m772)?

i actually got it working quite ok now after some fine tuning in the Flightmodel.cfg file.

I dont know if the behavior is realistic now, but its flyable and landable (enough for me doing long haul)

i just made a testflight with some passengers and made a screenshot.

Thank you for your help.

Really Heavy plane, dont know if its a mod issue or the 777 is just like this but it seems really heavy, i can barely climb to 33 thousand feet before i start loosing speed and stalling even when thrust is set to max toga, anyone having similar experience?

Thank you very much!  Since I posted this I found another cause of the frequencies going blank:

The Avionics on/off toggle is set by default to the Page Up key.   In the CS 777 it causes the COM frequency displays to toggle off/on. This key is also used by the very popular Pushback Helper addon to toggle hide/display and may be used by other addons.  So its use can inadvertently cause the COM display to go blank.

Hi Liebherr280,

Please explain your issue in more detail.  Which 777-300 are you using - -300ER, 300PW or 300RR?  Are you trying to use the 777/764 WorldlinerRS Mod?  What exactly is working and what is not working?

Which 777-300 are you using?  What are the names of the folders you have in the Community folder?  You need to give more information.

Also, the aircraft starts cold & dark - no electric power.  You need to turn on the battery switch on the overhead panel, then click on the external power available" buttons that should be lit up after you click on the battery switch.

Hi Nik05,

I suggest you completely remove the three files of the Horizon mod from the Community folder and get the basic aircraft running.  It can take a long time for a new aircraft to load for the first time.

You didn't say whether you bought the 777 from the Captain Sim store or the MSFS Marketplace, or which version of the 777-300 you bought.  The Horizon mod only works with the 777-300ER (GE engines) bought from the Captain Sim store.

Strangely now, the plane pitches its Trim to Nose up completely.

I've seen this if I turn on the autopilot while on the ground before takeoff, which should never happen.  Or else with a defective joystick/controller.

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum, I don't know how to make a new topic, but I haven't seen anyone experience that the original markplace 777-200GE plus the mod 1.3.2 that updates the screens and, not like the 747 , the Wheater Radar (WXR) does not work, without this Mod it does work, but the same thing happens to me with the VS that is not shown and it is impossible to fly it, it is a shame that they did not really finish this beautiful plane well, but the saddest thing is that It is my favorite even with errors, I paid a lot of money for it for our country, I made a great effort always contributing to the developers but I don't see any effort from them to improve the plane, it has many bugs and it would be great if they fixed them soon. Greetings to all!

Well, the truth is, I recently made a post, and now i asking the people at CptainSim if they can delete it (I don't know how), because here are my comments about the CS B777-200ER:
1) I have been flying FS since it came out 40 years ago, and in my opinion this plane is the most wonderful I have flown, it has its bugs, yes of course, but it is made very well, it has everything you need to fly, and with MOD 1.3.2 it really goes great, my congratulations to CaptainSim for the airplane and to the developers of the Mod.
Of course, if the people at CaptainSim or someone else can explain to me how to make the Wheater Radar functional on the 777-200ER + Mod 1.3.2, I would appreciate it, and my congratulations because it is the best airplane I have ever flown! I hope they continue making updates to improve it even more! And my apologies if I was angry in my previous post, this plane really is wonderful. Thank you all.
