DONE - Strobe Lights Illuminate Cockpit

Firstly, great to see the 737 classic in P3Dv5, thanks Captain Sim.

I've notice the flashing white strobe lights illuminate the flight deck, which although may happen in clouds, its happening all the time.

Would be cool if they let us change the fx's files in the aircraft.cfg [Lights] section like we could with their other aircraft...

There are a lot of .fx files in P3D\Captain_Sim\737-classic\effects folder, so maybe one of those is for the strobe lights.

Not a single file for wing strobes, only tail...

Yeah, this is annoying. I am more concerned about things like this than the technical things other people like to talk about. I just like to fly, and having a flashing light in the cockpit matters to me. Sort of like the lame "oxygen mask" sign. If there is one thing we CAN expect from CS it's good-looking airplanes, inside and out. Please, let's get this fixed.

Does this happen in Prepar3D v 4, 5, or both?
Is it possible to turn it off using the Position light switch?
SDK, search O29_001_SW3 or Position

It happens in v5.1--that's all I know. It is possible to turn off the strobe with the switch. That's how I live with it  Wink

Still a problem in 1.0. Can't fly with strobes on without flashing in the cockpit. Also the taxi lights, when on with the default cleared for takeoff flight, still light up the tower at night!

Effects files for strobes, navigation and taxi lights are in P3D\Effects folder cs737_*.fx. Increasing Falloff Exponent entries (2 or more) should make things better until the official fix.

Perhaps someone who knows what they're doing would mod that for the rest of us until, you know.

I've just done a complete re-install of the 733 after having poor performance issues and am now having this issue, I wasn't previously until I installed V5.3 HF1+lights so that's an odd one.

I also noted that occasionally when in external view the entire external model will be illuminated by the strobe, its consistent on certain angles and inconsistent on others. Is this potentially a P3Dv5.3HF1 issue?
