Weather Radar Causes Huge FPS Impact

Hello All

Me again, The second bug I've found, took me a while to figure out. I was on stand at EGSS getting the aircraft ready for push, and I was getting fairly decent FPS, then all of a sudden I was struggling to get more than 10 and couldn't work out why, I tried changing all my graphics settings, still nothing, checked task manager, nothing out of the ordinary. And it wasn't until I was in cruise and I decided to try turning the weather radar off that I realized that was the cause. Just prior to pushback I had enabled the WX radar and that's when I got the massive FPS hit, and it wasn't until I turned it off in cruise that I regain my average FPS.

I Hope You Can Resolve This Soon

Many Thanks

Myles

Not a bug.
WXR is a complex unit which affects PC performance. More or less depending on your setup.

I've never had a single problem with any performance issues with any other aircraft when equipped and using the WX radar, only this one. My FPS tanks from a solid 30+ to about 10

I don't have any issues. Solid 30+ even with weather radar on. But I have a high end gaming pc. And that's both at cruise and at very detailed airports with sliders near maxed. So definitely an issue with your setup.
Definitely agree with CS that it isn't a bug because there's likely a lot of computing going on but having said that, could probably be handled more efficiently.

No problems for me either. I get 30+ with weather displaying on both.  Undecided

I also got same issue...

Not a problem with the 75 or 76, but with the 73 I got issues..

12-13fps when WX Radar on, stable 30+ when WX Radar turned off..

Yup... Same thing. 13 or so FPS with Weather Radar on. On both 737 and 757. Otherwise they perform fine. No such issues on other aircraft.

The last update seems to have fixed that FPS issue, at least on my computer. So it is going in the right direction Smiley

I can't even get the wx radar to work.  How do you turn it on?  Is it in a manual?

It's the same broken code they use in all their P3D/FSX aircraft. It's laggy in the 767, 757 and now the 737. Cut and shut job done on this plane.

Don't give them any credit for something that's been broken on all their releases for the best part of the last 10 years. You can fix it in the 737, why can't you fix it in the 757?

No it's not.
The WXR is a brandnew 64bit code done from scratch for 64bit P3D.

As for the FPS issues on some devices, as I said, it's not a bug.
WXR is a complex unit which obviously affects PC performance. More or less depending on your setup.

I have significant huge impact on 737 than on 757 and 767, something seems different for me.
If you did any "improvement" on the seemingly identical system, please review it.
