p3dv5 install?

I see some users have been able to install the L-1011 into p5d. How do I go about pointing the installer there? It does not detect FSX so doesn't allow me to install. I only have p5d installed on my PC.

Thank you, I have been many years without a computer so I am trying to get back into the swing of things. If you can please explain it in the most basic way possible please =)

Thank you, stay well, and stay safe!

Cheesy

I've install it using this method for match a fake P3Dv4 path:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTsDNwhAsVE

in this way the installer match Prepar3d v4 version but install it in v5.
It work but without sounds (maybe old fix DLL.XML file will work? but we NEED indication buy Captain Sim at this point), some grapichs issue (Autopilot numbers for HDG,ALT,etc look ugly), lights (but this also a LM issue waiting for HF2) and I suppose some issue about Autopilot use that need to be fixed by CS.

They said that v5 version will out, but I'm pretty sure they are all concentrated on 767 actually.

Well, I think that this fixes are very few and fast to do...I don't want to wait two years for L-1011 v5 versiona darn.... Undecided

Add this:

  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>Captain Sim Sound</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Path>Captain_Sim\bin\cs.sound.dll</Path>
  </Launch.Addon>

Make sure that those lines are between the lines

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<SimBase.Document Type="AceXML" version="3,0" id="dll">

and

</SimBase.Document>

Like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<SimBase.Document Type="AceXML" version="3,0" id="dll">
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>Captain Sim Sound</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Path>Captain_Sim\bin\cs.sound.dll</Path>
  </Launch.Addon>
</SimBase.Document>

I think you can find the dll.xml file in here: C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5, but I also have one in C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5
I think that the one in the AppData folder was added by the Captain Sim 767 Captain II for P3D4/5 installer.
