DXGI ERROR DEVICE HUNG In P3D V5

Hello Guys I hope you can help me with a big problem. Since I’ve updated to P3D V5 I had no issues with my sim. Yesterday I bought the CS 767 and every time I change the view to the outside my sim stucks and it shows up this message “ DXGI ERROR DEVICE HUNG”. Currently I am using a GTX 1060 6gb, I5-6600k and 24gb ram. I was wondering what is causing this problem as for example I can play with all PMDGs on the max setting fluently but even after I degred the Settings my sim crashes using the 767. I tried to use the 767 only in the cockpit view but even there it crashes after 2h of flying. I have installed the newest versions of everything. I hope somebody knows a solution and sorry for my bad English.

The 'DXGI ERROR DEVICE HUNG' will occur once the sim runs out of available VRAM, since the 767 is suchs a higly detailed addon aircraft it will require more VRAM than others.

I suggest you try lowering some VRAM intensive settings, such as the Truesky cloud resolution.

Partly true. It can also happen if the gpu is stressed too much and tasks take too long to finish, without vram being too full. There is a 2 sec limit and if the task isnt done in this timeframe it gives a dxgi device hung too.

Hi all, I am having this same issue. Really excited for this aircraft but it crashes with a device hung error as soon as the plane loads in. I have turned down all the settings in ACE but that does not seem to solve the problem. I know I don't have the strongest system 1660TI OC 6gb and i5 9600k Turbo up to 4.8ghz but I have ran every single performance heavy aircraft for p3dv5 at at least 30FPS with high quality add-on airports, ORBX products installed, active sky, etc and never had a crash like this. My p3d settings are on medium and reasonable levels. Is there 2k textures that work with V5 or any other known solutions to this problem? Thanks for the help.

Also I might add, upon crashing and DXGI_ERROR my GPU is showing only 2.7/5.0 GB used and approximately 40 FPS in the VC. Not sure I understand what the problem is considering there is more than enough VRAM and I am at default airport with no Active Sky.

Here's what I know, if I move the glacs XML out of the aircraft folder and the glacs folder, I do not get the hung error.  If I put those two things back in the aircraft folder, I get the error within 20 seconds of using the 767.  I didn't have this issue on any of the beta versions, just version 1.0.  Maybe you could try that and see if it does the same for you and Captain SIm could check into it

I confirm the issue with 0.99. During my 2 attemps I didn't have the error at the end of loading but few minutes after while proceeding with startup checklist. Note that it was at night time and enough VRAM. No problem with 0.98 and P3Dv5 in similar conditions.

Try to disable (rename) ...\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B767-300ER-II_PW4060\panel\Captain_Sim.glacs.dll file.

Hi,
Unfortunately, after applying hotfix 0991 over 0990 I'm still getting CTD and the following message for my GeForce RTX 2080Ti
DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG.
To be noted that this is only applicable for the 767, none of the other airplanes do this.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you!

I turned that file off and now the CTD I got every time i launched this plane went away.   But what does this file do?  I had no problems with CTD's until I installed the most recent hotfix.
