aux fuel tank

Hi, I understand some 727s had an extra fuel tank for longer range, even Transatlantic capabilities..is there any quick or easy way to add this into FSX? I know that rather than simulate a separate tank it may be easier to just artificially increase the central tank capacity, but it's been a long time since I attempted this mod. Any ideas out there? Smiley thanks

In the <FSX/SE/P3D>\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B727-200, open the aircraft.cfg with Notepad. Scroll down to (or search for) [fuel]

You will find this:

[fuel]
Center1=1.000, 0.000, -4.000, 4095.000, 50.000
LeftMain=-3.500, -15.000, -4.000, 1793.000, 30.000
RightMain=-3.500, 15.000, -4.000, 1793.000, 30.000
fuel_type=2
number_of_tank_selectors=3
electric_pump=1
fuel_dump_rate=0

The numbers in BOLD, are the fuel tank quantity in US Gallons. 1 US Gal equals 6.7 pounds, so if you know how many pounds you want to increase it, divide that by 6.7, then add the results to the 4095 (US Gal) in the Center1 entry.

i.e. 5000lbs more fuel for your longer range flights:

5000/6.7=746.27
746.27+4095=4841.27

then Center1 will look like this:

Center1=1.000, 0.000, -4.000, 4841.270, 50.000

IMPORTANTANT NOTICE - BACKUP THE AIRCRAFT.CFG BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY CHANGES!!!
