under 15 fps when looking at external views

Same questions:
What do you get on default aircraft at the same conditions/location?
Screen shots of both (the 767 and default aircraft) pls.

external view comparison QW787 and CS767, the fps is a huge difference

Please find attached my images.

All pics taken at JustSim EDDL airport stand C04.

As you can see from the Mooney Bravo (Default) there is 0.1 difference in FPS between VC and External view.

In the Captainsim 757 III there is 4.7 difference in FPS between VC and External view, the external view providing more FPS than VC.

In the Captainsim 767 II there is 11.8 difference in FPS between VC and External view, the external view providing fewer FPS than VC.

Interesting.
Pls check if reset of P3D display setting to deafult makes any difference.

Please find attached my images.

Pics taken at P3D4V.5 default airport KVPS in default 2k CS Livery.

There is 13.1 difference in FPS between VC and External view, the external view providing fewer FPS than VC.

https://ibb.co/TbN0cc0 CS 2K VC Custom Display Settings

The images below are from re-setting the display values to default.

https://ibb.co/nLC9vTv CS 2K VC Default Display Settings
https://ibb.co/51y22GM CS 2K EXT Default Display Settings
https://ibb.co/DtQKDtf Default Display Settings

Even though the default values appear more positive, you need to remember that not everybody flies into default airports with sub standard default scenery.

I'd like to re-itterate my previous post, stating that i had no such issue with your 757 Captain III using my referenced Custom Display Settings or other high-end aircraft addons.

The sim is also now struggling to load the 767 after making the changes. Able to select it through the menu etc, select OK to launch, then the sim just crashes to the desktop. This is what event viewer says about it:

UPDATE:

Have managed to change to DEFAULT settings in game, after loading up with my usual settings. In DEFAULT scenery scenario, there is no drop in FPS in EXTERNAL view and a gain of approx 5 FPS in the VC.

Thanks,
Ok what we get:
- Just 2 users (you and bmanvi who is out for some reason). So there's no serious problems in the 767 that could affect mass user.
- The fact that the 767 exterior model does cause fps drop on your PC.

We believe the 767 exterior model complexity pushes some limits of your sim and/or PC setup. That Prepar3D.exe crash is an extra proof of that.

Possible solutions:
- System and all drivers update
- Performance check e.g. https://www.userbenchmark.com/Software
- P3D and/or windows reinstall.

Before that I'd try the 767 on another PC.

I am reporting back. FPS outside is really acting weird, now and then it is plumiting to below the 10fps. While when I then hop back into the VC and go back to exteriror, sometimes the FPS are normally in the exterior

And I've tested several aircraft (default and payware). All at JFK with current time and weather (rain). Only this 767 is showing this odd behavior. All other planes (f22, 787, NGXu, FSLabs) are showing normal FPS values, VC and exterior.

(first a request to merge this post with the 2 earlier from this morning)

Second, I've found something odd. When I load in at an airport in the 767. And hop out, FPS are good! But, whenever I go back into the VC to switch to exterior view a few minutes later, the FPS have plummeted. Shocked

So this is just a theory of mine, but this 'Outside Exterior Model - Low FPS' issue might have to do with the fact that the exterior model file of the 767 CAPTAIN II (.mdl file size= 275 MB) is about 6 times larger in disk size compared to other payware add-on aircraft such as the 737NGXu (38 MB) and the QW787 (37 MB).

In the past I've done some modeling myself, I do know for sure: Generally speaking (and of course there are other factors as well) the larger the size of the model file, the more complicated the model is... In other words, it will have a bigger impact on performance!

I'd like to add the following: And yes, it does run heavier on the frames compared to other payware add-on aircraft.
