INS Problems

Hi,

I'm pretty new to the L1011. I flew one flight succesfully but am now facing issues in my second try. I have made a flight plan from SimBrief and imported it to P3D using the integrated flight planner. I can successfully load the flightplan into the CIVA INS - all waypoints are appropriately loaded when I initialize the INS, but my present position is wrong (something I noticed with my latest flight). When I try to modify my present position, I can do so properly - but unfortunately it resets the Longitude of all my enroute waypoints to the exact longitude I entered for my position (from the POS page of the INS). To avoid this I left my present position as it was (slightly off from my actual present position during alignment) and the aircraft could not properly track the enroute waypoints - it erroneously commanded right turns when the subsequent waypoint was to the left. I can try loading in all waypoints individually but that defeats the purpose of the INS being able to take more than 9 waypoints and automatically reading from the P3D flightplan.

Is the fact that all my enroute waypoints take the longitudinal position of my initial alignment position a bug? I did not face this issue on my previous flight. Is there a solution to this?

Update: Loaded a new panel state and I could then successfully align to my present position without the enroute waypoints being affected. Might be something to do with a mismatched or corrupt panel state.

Have you tried entering you current POS in the INS before loading the flight plan? I normally load the flight plan while the INS is aligning.

Another thing to remember, is to drop the last digit of the coordinates you see on the top left of the screen if you press SHIFT+Z.

i.e. I enter these coordinates:

S37o 40.59'     E144o 50.91'

as 8(S)37405 INSERT    6(E)144509 INSERT

Thanks Mark, that's what I ended up doing and it aligned correctly, think it was down to me loading a bad panel state since I use a third party autosaver that automatically loads the last panel state when you start a new flight. Appreciate the help.

When you do a save from P3Dv4, it also saves a xxx.cs.config (where xxx is the same as the saved flight name).
So by using a 3rd party autosaver, it wasn't creating that necessary file.

I'm also hear looking to learn a thing or two.  I am just finally getting some time to attempt to get up to speed on this plane. I can't seem to get my simbrief flight plans setup in this plane.  When I go to the hidden key flightplan it still lists the default KVPS flight.  Is there a secret to this one likely simple step?

Save the Simbrief flight plan as a default P3Dv4 .PLN flight plan (if you can) and then load it using the defaullt Flight Planner.
