ACE WILL NOT START
Apr 5th, 2020 at 3:52am
Print Post
Greetings,

I have  installed and uninstalled the CS 777 on 3 diff
occasions.

I have followed all the suggestions that I can find and have
turned off my windows 10 av and firewall each time I have
redownloaded the installers and then reinstalled.

Each and every time when I try to start the ACE it shows
up on my task manager for a minuted then I see the message
"suspended" and the program crashes.

I have checked my event viewer and each time it gives
me the message that it is caused by the system32/kernelbase.dll.

I do not have any other p3d v4 programs that are crashing like this and giving me this message.

I have even gone as far as getting that dll file from my other computer and installing it on the one I use flight sim on with the same results.

I would appreciate any help as until I get this program to run I can not configure any of the 777 aircraft or install an liveries.

Thank you for your time and help in this matter.

Gene

Your AV, or Windows Defender, could be blocking it. Try adding the ace_777.exe file (found in the P3Dv4\Captain_Sim\777-II\ace folder) to your AV/Windows Defender exclusions list.

Greetings,

I tried your suggestion and still had the same results. I could see it starting on my task manager and then "suspended" then the app disappeared.

After checking my event viewer I had the same error message.

I am attaching a copy of the log maybe that will help.

When you install/reinstall, are you following the instructions here: https://www.captainsim.org/forum/csf.pl?num=1554738484
If not, that could be why the ACE is crashing.

Other than the fact that ace_777.exe is the AppName/Filename being the problem file in the report (which we already knew), I can't tell exactly why it's closing. Sorry. Sad

Greetings,

I am following you suggestion and have uninstalled
all the expansion packs then the base plane
I then went to the forum link and went to the 777
sim ops page and it said that the latest version is
1.8 so I went to my profile page to download but the
version that is on the download page is 1.0 what am
I missing? I just purchased the p3dv4 plane on 4/4/20
I thought I would get the latest version available.

Before I re download I will await your answer about
the version that I am supposed to have.

Thank you

These are the files I used for installing the 777 Captain II:

csy772_1100.exe
csy773_1000.exe
csy774_1000.exe

and the ACE works fine for me.

Greetings,

I am at my very wits end with this plane and
its problems.

I have followed all of the suggested steps as to how
to delete, download and install this plane.

I have done the whole thing 3 separate times and
get the same results each and every time.

When I click on the ACE.exe to start it will show up in
my task manager for about 4 or 5 seconds then disappears
and the same error is in the device manager every time.

I do not have a problem running any other add on in my sim
and I have a lot of them.

My system is an AMD FX-8370 processor, Nvidia GTX 1060 6gb
video card, 16GB Memory  and I have 2 1TB SSD hard drives one has my system files and the other is exclusive for Flight Sim only. No other programs are on the drive. I had your 32bit version on my FSX system and when I switched to P3dV4 waited a long time to get the 64bit version because you did not
have an upgrade or discount program to switch.

I am now not too happy that I did get the P3Dv4 version as
it seems I am not going to be able to use it.

I do not know what else to do.

I'm at a loss as to why this is happening to you. Your log from the Event Viewer is large compared to any I have seen in mine.
Seeing as I don't have any problems running the ace_777.exe, and I never have, I can't figure out why you are. Sad

99.99% it's your AV.

1. https://www.captainsim.org/forum/csf.pl?num=1489697628

2. Download the latest ACE and replace the file.

Greetings,

I have checked the quarantined threats and there are none listed
I have also turned off all my windows defender virus and firewall while downloading.

I have exchanged the new file for the old one and still get the same results with the same event viewer error.

I have no other program on this computer flight sim or other wise that gives me the results that this one does. I also do not
run any 3rd party anti virus software that would interfere.

I am not a computer novice and have checked everything that I can think of that would conflict with the running of this program.

What exactly do you get when you run the NEW ACE first time?

Just re-tested:
With Windows 10 defender ON I get a popup:
Windows protected your PC
Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk.
App:
ace_777.exe
Publisher:
Unknown publisher

[RUN ANYWAY]   [DONT"T RUN]

Hit RUN ANYWAY and ACE works like a charm.

Hello,

I have just reinstalled the base pack and copied the
new ACE.exe and pasted in the proper location.

When I try to run I do not get the popup window
asking if I want to "run anyway" it just does like
every other time I have tried to run this program
I see a brief indication in the task manager that it
is trying to start and then crashes and I have the
exact same error in the event viewer as the other
50 times I have tried to run this program.

Angry Angry Angry

Makes no sense and my frustration level is going
off the chart

Looks like your win10 doesn't bother to ask you and just blocks an app that THEY think is dangerous. Big brother in action.

Hello,

When I purchase a product for flight sim I understand that it is a digital product and the policy is that no refunds are available, HOWEVER, I also expect that product to WORK!!!

I have made every effort to follow all of the suggestions and installation instructions and this product is non functional.

I have also contacted Microsoft Tech and have tried to find a solution that would make this a functional product for my flight sim and they have said that there is not a problem with my windows 10 software or my computer.

That leaves me with but one conclusion and that there is a problem in your product.

I feel that I have made every good faith effort to comply with trying to install and operate this piece of software and it does not seem that there is a workable solution.

I therefore feel that an exception should be made to refund my purchase price even though it is not your policy to do so.

I really feel that this would be what most companies would do to satisfy a customer.

I have over 100 3rd party add on pieces of software for my P3D v4 flight sim and have never had a problem such as this.

So I am politely requesting that you make an exception to your policy and I will GLADLY destroy this software from my computer.

Thank you

Greetings,

I would like to make a post to apologize for the previous
post.

When I put up that post I was totally frustrated and did
not know what to do and felt like I had wasted my money
for a plane that I wanted to fly but would absolutely not
run on my computer.

I realize that the people at Captain Sim did try their
best to accommodate and help me.

I deleted the plane and got with a tech and after about
8 hours of scanning there was either a virus or malware that
must of been causing the ACE program to crash and not start.

I have now got the plane reinstalled and the ACE starts up
every time and I look forward to making a lot of enjoyable
flights.

Again please accept my sincere apologies for my tone and for making that post.

Thank you again for all of your efforts trying to solve my
very frustrating situation.
