Updating L1011
Feb 15th, 2020 at 7:44pm
Print Post
Hi, I have purchased the L1011 in 2016. My account shows the download. (ran it on P3dv3)

I have updated to P3dv4.5.

If I re download the L1011 is this compatible with P3dv4.5?

The download says csz112_1300. Bur the load splash screen says P3dv3?

Not sure what version the re download will support.

I hope I do not have to buy it again? Not that its not worth it, just that my cash flow is poor!

Thanks.

Thanks. I realise that now.
Unfortunately this won't be happening. Cry
There should be a reasonable discount for people who own the aircraft in a previous version of the platform. Whilst I realise it's been "upgraded" for 64 bit, a discount (say half price) would be fair and ensure revenue can be earned for the development work.
Regards.

Completely agree with you.
Wait for a sale. I got it on the latest sale at $25.

Exactly! It should be a discount for people who bought a time before.  Angry

Just out of curiosity, how much discount you got from LM buying P3D4 after P3D3?

Why U give bad examples, not looking and follow good ones ?
There are devs who either do not charge or give discounts.

These are GOOD examples, for LM and MS obviously.
These multi-billion corporations charge you full price every single time and you pay no questions asked.
Why on earth a "two guys and a truck" company like CS would give you freebies?

Maybe because it clearly specifies it is simply a "migration" from the 32-bit version with some new adaptations Roll Eyes

Quote:
The 1011 CAPTAIN II is a port over from 32-bit version except the features marked New!

...or is this enough reason for asking full price for a simple upgrade?
Though I can somewhat agree with you on your example of the two guys and a truck. No matter not agreeing with being fully charged for a mere upgrade, you have been doing some amazing products for the last two decades. Not in the same level of actual another company 737/747/777, but undoubtedly at the level of the another company Airbuses for sure.

It's a free market. We do not owe any explanations on our pricing policy.

Any L1011 in MSFS when pigs fly  Wink

I just want to see a CS L1011 III. Bad. For whatever reason, it's the only thing I've flown since coming back at the end of October. I am always finding nuances to appreciate, mods to fiddle with, and how busy it keeps me. By that measure, given the cost of re-entry now, I've spent  Shocked !!! for one airplane  Grin

Sure, I'll eventually want to try the 757's in my hanger and a couple of other "latest and greatest study level sims" I have--if I live that long with a sound mind.

Having some experience in fee-setting in a competitive market, it's a balance of what you bring to the game and what you need to make a profit. And some voodoo.

I always think of something I read in law school called "the client curve of gratitude." It starts, "Man, I'm in big trouble. They say this guy's the best, so I'm lucky to be able to afford him!" Then it's "I can't complain. He seems to be doing a pretty good job." At some point, it's, "They have a lousy case against me. I don't know why this is costing so much." Finally, it's, "So, I got off. There was never any doubt! That shyster ripped me off. I could have beat those Mickey Mouse charges on my own!"

Funny because it's true.

No, that's not exactly the same thing as an upgrade, I admit. But I guess I always found fees a darnable issue that was driven by necessity on my end and perceptions on the other. Both are legitimate factors in the equation. If you get them right, you stay in business. If not...

So, it's hard to say what's "fair" when it comes to pricing policies, especially unless you know everything the person setting the price knows.

Ultimately, what's "fair" is up to each potential buyer. That's what's great about a free market. It may very well be unfair to one person, and a bargain for another.

I understand full price if new version is significantly improved - not this case.
I own L1011 for P3D3 and now for P3D4, transfer was done with all issues and mistakes even a long list of those exist.
With such attitude full price for buggy product is very questionable.
