I am also using Acceleration and my version is:
727 Captain (727-100 Base Pack) v2.7\n(c) 2015 Captain Sim www.captainsim.com
My switch shows High/Low ? In Windows10 (x64) Computer. Just open FSX\Accl. in my old windows 7 (x32) And the cap727. The Switch NAV/GPS displays there very transparent; Next to Master Test and Dimming Switch, which I don't have either in the windows 10 installation  Undecided  ?

Taking into consideration that I had installer Activation Error and got dark gauges at one time, this could be the cause of this ? Hopefully I don't have to reinstall. Can you send me a new switch, or guide me how to edit it.

Looking at the image you sent to me via email, you can see the NAV / GPS on the switch, but it is "merged" with MARKER HIGH / LOW texture. I can only assume that it is either a graphics error, or a setting in FSX is causing the background texture for NAV / GPS to be semi-transparent.

Reinstall the csp721_2700.exe, and use the "Repair" option when given the choice to Repair or Remove. Make sure you turn OFF your AV, and Windows Defender, and that you run the installer using the "Run as administrator" option (right click on the installer, and select "Run as administrator" from the list (2nd from the top)).

By reinstalling the 727-100, you will reinstall all the VC textures (along with everything else for the 727-100), and hopefully it will correct the issue with the NAV/GPS switch. Reinstalling will also overwrite the aircraft.cfg, so if you have any added liveries, you will need to re-add them, or you can backup the current aircraft.cfg prior to the reinstall/repair. Do not replace the original aircraft.cfg after the reinstall/repair, until after you have checked to see if the NAV/GPS problem is fixed!

Hi Mark, thanks for your reply Unfortunateely no joy on the "repair" attempt of 727. A Weird thing is that when i load another texture it shows, like for  fraction of a second a Blue mix of textures as IF it were FS2004. I've checked the version no. in the aircraft .cfg file and there it says 2.7.I hd lost my V-1 and Alt sounds, so checked the panel.cfg, were not there under any window, so Googled causes and one mentioned the MSVCR71.dll could be missing in windows10, did a search for it and cannot find it. Now the question is Who\Where\How

Although I doubt this is the reason for the NAV/GPS Switch texture, as I checked it out last night after I received your email (I actually thought it might be the problem), you may have the Preview DirectX 10 checkmarked (the box is ticked). Go to the Menu > Settings > Display, and on the right side under Global options you will see a box to the left of Preview DirectX 10. Make sure it is unchecked (there is no tick in the box).

That will/should at least stop the fraction of a second a Blue mix of textures when loading the 727.

Note. The only time I have had success with the Preview DirectX 10 settings, was when I used a program made by SteveFX called DX10 Scenery Fixer (it isn't installed at the moment, so I do not have Preview DirectX 10 checkmarked). I'm not even sure if this is available any more, but it cost me $AU37 back in 2013.

Just Unchecked DirectX 10 box and loaded cap727 and those textures did not show, another thing is I seem to have lost my V-1 and Alt. callouts sounds. eventhough i can see the entries in the windows in the panel.cfg  Cry Could it be MSVCR71.dll) Not being here?

I really don't know if the MSVR71.dll is there, or not. I have not had to download, and install, that file, and the 727 works fine on my computer.

Note. As you can see by me PC specs in my signature below, I'm using Win 10 Pro 64bit, but my laptop was originally Win 10 Home 64bit, and the 727 worked fine on it, and continued to do so even after I upgraded it to Win 10 Pro 64bit.

Hi Mark: I've looked aand searched for the MSVCR71.dll everywhere in my windows10(x64) Installation,, but can't find it. have found though information about it in The internet that Windows10 and MSVCR71.dll are not good friend and  the later has a tendency to dissapear from windows sys. folder. Don't undertand why when i had FSX installed, default I installed 727 and it worked fine, then three days later it strikes. I did some manual changes to the 727 installation to see if  recovered the sound, must test and will report...Thanks again for your feedback.

JUST DID A SHORT FLIGHT TO TEST V-1 AND ALT. SOUNDS. Undecided AFRAID THEY'RE SILENT. Cry Looking again I do not have the CAB File CALLOUT_SMALLJETS In my Gauges Folder ? I do have it on my win7(x32) Installation. Await advice?...

I found that MSVCR71.dll is installed on my computer in quite a few places, with, I guess, the most important one being C:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder.
It is also installed for MS Office 2016, Adobe (I assume for Creative Suite CS2), AORUS (Graphics Card control program for overclocking/fan speeds), the game Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (which I thought was uninstalled), and eSelerate (I think this is for the FSL's ConcordeX). You can see all of this info in the attached image.

As for the CAB file CALLOUT_SMALLJETS, I don't know anything about it. I searched for it, but it is nowhere on my computer, yet I am still hearing ALL of the callouts for V-1. The sound files for V1 are found in the FSX\Captain_Sim\727\sound\V-One folder.

No. I can't find a CALLOUT_SMALLJETS.cab file anywhere in FSX.

The only file from the V-1 for the CS 727, that would be found in the FSX\Gauges folder, is the dsd_fsx_xml_sound.gau file.

Found the NEW texture mode by Texture Mod by Kenneth Hudgens III and installed it. Still wonder why it wasn't already included in v.2.7 ? Wink

It actually is included in the 727 Captain v2.7 (see attached image (installation without any modifications, or changes)).
I can't understand why you are not seeing the NAV/GPS markings above/below the switch once you  have installed it.  Undecided

Hi Mark, thanks for your reply and support. You have fallowed me through, here in the forum, with this issue, just by chance and Google memory I found the NAV GPS Texture amongst the 727s' free textures library and installed it. I don't and hope  this computer I bought is not a dudd.I have updated everything windows allows, before I installed FSX\Accl. When I installed the 727 I tried different Direct X's to experiment with the texture, Nothing fixed it. I also have v2.7 in my old win7 (x32) Computer and there it displays since 2.7 came out and I installed. Image just to show I got it, note my image contrasts in comparisson to yours, maybe and obviously a difference in GC.
