Here's how I do it.

Open the Simicons Panel (SHIFT+2), then select the SSR icon.

And using the attached image as a guide:

(1) Move the M-3/A switch to 3/A
(2) Move the Master Control to NORM
(3) *Turn the Mode D ON
(4) Make sure that the CIV/MIL switch is set to CIV
(5) Enter the squawk code

The button/knob/switch names are from the ‘C-130 X-PERIENCE’ FLIGHT MANUAL Part II –Systems and Equipment (csc130_manual2.pdf), page 24, under the heading PANEL ‘X’ - IFF/SSR TRANSPONDER CONTROL PANEL.

* This might need to be "Turn the Mode C ON" (I can't remember how I saw this one was supposed to be set (it was a long time ago), so it could be Mode C, or Mode D).
Undecided

Note. I don't know if this works with any of the online virtual airlines as I never did a flight in any of them.

Thanks Markoz,
the reason it came up is I was on an IFR into KSAT and they asked me to squawk and I couldn't do it.... and they broke contact

I'll be ready next time.

I'll give it a go with the ATC, and an IFR flight to find out if the Mode C/Mode D makes any difference to them. Wink

I don't use IFR flights much in FSX/P3D as they don't follow the STARs I'm using on approach, and so I carry it over to the C-130, even though I don't use a SID, or STAR, in the route. If I fly a VFR flight in bad weather, I don't use the ATC for takeoff and landing because they won't allow it, so I do my own thing. Shocked

Edit. I tested my original settings above on an IFR flight, and it worked perfectly. Every time I changed one of the digits in the Mode 3/A/B (#5 (red box) in the attached image of my previous post), the ATC informed me to reset the squawk code, and that my transponder was malfunctioning. Grin
