I'd love to know why I can see outside my aircraft (with a window open), but nothing in the VC or virtual cabin.

Kindly advise me what is wrong.  I'm running the latest version for FSX.

If this issue is not resolved soon, I'll be disputing the purchase with paypal.

Thank-you,

Marc Eichler

The 200 works perfect, it’s just the 300, and both are up to date — when I got notice of the new version, I immediately downloaded and installed.

Reinstall the latest 300 with AV off.
If no change:
-Both 300 with CS livery?
-Exterior 300?
-base pack and the -300 versions #?

I'm also having the same issue and it seems to be the same problem from the Freighter version where the texture cfg file remains blank and there are no fallback textures listed.

I looked at the texture.cfg files for both the CS_B757-300-III_PW2043, and CS_B757-300-III_RB535E4B, in FSX and FSX-SE, and they have fallback textures listed. I wonder why yours doesn't. Undecided

Hi there,

I am getting really dark textures only on the cargo variant. I have tested all other liveries and nothing wrong. The captainsim house liveries on the cargo variants work fine but downloaded ones from ACE don't work. I have Air Force 2 for the-200 and looks fine!

I am running FSX with acceleration.

If you are on the latest version of ACE
For P3D4
For FSX/P3D3
Must be placed to: ...flightsim root\Captain_Sim\757-III\ace\ folder.

then 99% the reason is your AV https://www.captainsim.org/forum/csf.pl?num=1489697628

You’re saying that my AV program allows the textures in the VC of the -300 to work fine in the birds in CS livery, but in no others?

Your system blocks ACE so it cant write=ADD a free livery properly.

Josh,
I had the same thing happen... dark textures. It may not be the anti virus. This is how I fixed it. First, Check the texture.cfg in the texture folder. I discovered that it was blank. If it is, copy the texture from the another similar aircraft and paste in the texture.cfg of the aircraft you are trying to install. For some reason a lot, not all, of the aircraft texture.cfg's are blank when you download them. Below is an example of what to look for.

[fltsim]
fallback.1=..\..\CS_B757-300-III_PW2043\texture.CS.2018            //CS 300 general
fallback.2=..\..\CS_B757-200-III_RB535E4\texture.CS.2018      //RR CS
fallback.3=..\..\CS_B757-300-III_PW2043\texture                  //300 general
fallback.4=..\..\CS_B757-200-III_PW2037\texture.CS.2018            //CS general
fallback.5=..\..\CS_B757-200-III_PW2037\texture                  //general
fallback.6=..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture

Right, the cfg is blank because AV blocks ACE so it cant write the cfg.

Name at least one zip with a blank texture.cfg pls.

I’m not understanding.  I’m having no issues with the 757-200 or -200F, just the -300.

What do I do to remedy this situation?

Okay.  I’ve followed the instructions.  The only 757-300 working properly is the one with CS textures.

What’s next?

Add the ace_757.exe, found in the FSX\Captain_Sim\757-III\ace folder, to your Anti Virus exclusions list.

I have followed instructions to the letter.  I’ve even tried removing all the liberties that were not CS.

I am still having the same issue.

Today is Sunday.  If I’m still having the issue by Wednesday (March 6), I will be contacting PayPal, and my credit card company.

Is there any chance a full uninstall and reinstall of the 757-300 might help?

I had a similar issue with some of the 757-200 liveries. I copied the contents of the texture.cfg file from the corresponding base into the new livery texture.cfg file. That solution worked okay for me. If you have tried that and it doesn't work, I have no other suggestions.

What exactly did you copy?

I really like CS, and this is not normal for them.

You can either copy the texture.cfg from the texture.CS.2018 folder (of the 757 model you have the problem with the missing textures i.e. the CS_B757-300-III_RB535E4B\texture.CS.2018 folder for the 757-300RR\texture.cfg), and paste it in the texture.xxx folder of the livery you are having the trouble with, overwriting the blank texture.cfg.

Or. Using the same folder locations as the previous paragraph, open the texture.cfg in the texture.CS.2018 folder, copy all the contents within it, then open the blank texture.cfg, and paste the contents you just copied into it, then save.

Both of these methods should at least fix the missing/damaged textures, but does not solve the reason for why the ACE isn't filling the texture.cfg correctly when adding a livery.
