Is there any way to have Weapons work for FSX-Steam? Is there a work around to work with Steam DLC planes. Thanks for any help.    Robert

Hi-
Not sure if you got your answer yet...
I purchased (Weapons) around 2011 to run on MSFSX.
I purchased the (FSX Steam) version in 2016, thinking that I couldn’t use Weapons anymore.
Today I decided to try and install Weapons FSX in my STEAM version of FSX and discovered that install the add-on in the (Steam FSX ) folder and now I am pleasantly surprised that I can run Weapons FSX in STEAM.
The screen doesn’t freeze every time I fire and there doesn’t seem to be any issues early on.
Way too soon for me to know long term issues that may arise so I would love to see buildings and other aircraft “blow up” after a direct hit from my FA18.
There is an exciting “ground hit” with explosions , smoke , flying dirt and fire.
I hope this add-on gets a makeover and update to be as realistic as possible..
Very exciting experience..

I have both boxed edition and steam edition installed so i think it is not going to work in steam for me. i tried copying the folder over and that did not do the trick. i guess you need one or the other and not both.

It does seem to be a case of one or the other. I can get Weapon for FSX to work in FSX-SE, on my PC, but not the Loader. This is after copying it from FSX to FSX-SE.

On my laptop, I only have FSX-SE installed, and Weapon for FSX, including the loader, work fine.

When only FSX-SE is installed, it creates an FSX folder in the %AppData%/Microsoft (C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft) folder, and everythyhing works fine because of it.
However. When you have both installed, FSX-SE creates an FSX-SE folder in the %AppData%/Microsoft (C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft) folder, and I'm pretty sure that's where products only made for FSX end up with problems (see attached image).
