Hello,

It does not seem possible to make a IAN (Integrated Approach Navigation) RNAV approach with a B757. Am I right ? I do not see any related information.

Thanks
Mathieu

Do you mean an RNAV (GPS/GNSS) approach? As long as it is in the FMS, the aircraft will fly it. If you need help with the procedure for doing that, let us know.

It is surprising how many people seem to think you need IAN in order to fly an RNAV appraoch.
In my company we do not even have IAN in our 737's and yet we fly RNAVs daily.
Simply use LNAV/VNAV. You can't use LPV minima, but I tend to say in most than 99% of all cases LNAV/VNAV minima are more than sufficient.

He does not write that he believes that he can only carry out an RNAV approach using IAN. IAN is just a state of the art, but unfortunately not installed in all patterns. Of course, IAN offers a slightly more comfortable handling, but classically it goes with LNAV / VNAV and the 757 can be quite good.

Hello Guys,

thank you for your answer. I know I can do a RNAV approach with LNAV & VNAV and I have already did a couple.

I was just wondering if the 757 was capable of doing a RNAV approach using IAN. It was just curiosity. I have read that only some recent planes could do it and I was expecting the 757 was not recent enough.

Thanks !
Mathieu
