Pedestal radios and avionics not working
Jan 22nd, 2019 at 6:56pm
Print Post
I searched this forum for information and I was unable to find anyone having this issue, so I have to assume I'm doing something wrong.

My problem, after starting, the comm radios are on, but the frequency windows in all of the pedestal avionics are dark.  No frequencies, transponder code, ILS frequency and so-on.  Can you help me correct this.  Thanks.

That's great, can you help me get to where you are?

Have you tried using Shift+2 to bring up the corner panel that lets you interface with everything. There is Radio Button on it. Try switching it on and see what displays.

Yes I did, that just brings up the 2d panel.  There are no frequencies visible in that either.

No radio panel being displayed in 2D, or it is being displayed but blank displays for the frequencies as per my image? If so, them CS will have to help you on this.

My 2D panel looked just like your except it had no frequencies or code visible.  But I just found what caused the issue and it's all good now.

@Captain Sim

FYI Apparently, the the latest MSVB C++ runtimes (2017) will remove the required 2015 runtimes causing issues such as the one I experienced. This is at least the case for the english version WIN10. Just wanted to point this out you as it may effect other users as well.  I don't recall manually installing that update but it could have been pushed by MS.

Thanks for that heads-up as I do run a Win10 1809 set-up. Touch wood, so far no issues.

If anybody else gets this, try toggling the Master Avionics button.
