VNAV PTH/SPD Intervention

Hello,

First of all i would like to thank captain sim for a great product which I bought today.

can anyone help how to engage VNAV SPD mode instead of VNAV PTH which forbids speed restrictions ?

According to manual part 2 it says to push SPD INTERVENTION button when descending but it doesnt do anything for me

Also i read that in the patch notes that this button has been fixed or am I pushing the wrong button  ?

Thank you
Vlad

It works for me if I just press the speed select knob in the center.  Good luck!

Your wrong.  It does work for me and I just tried it again.  Perhaps I am misunderstanding your problem.  When you press the speed knob what happens?

Sorry for being offensive

When i press IAS / SPEED button during descent - VNAV PTH, the speed number illuminates , autopilot stays in VNAV PTH mode.

I feel that what is being asked here is why doesn't the FMA change to VNAV SPD when speed intervene is pressed?  During a normal VNAV descent, the FMA will be VNAV PTH. However, when speed is intervened the FMA should become VNAV SPD.  The logic to this is VNAV is no longer honoring the path, but rather speed.

Also, for the first post: Bartalos wrote on Dec 22nd, 2018 at 11:59pm:

If the FMC is programmed correctly then VNAV PTH shall honor speeds and altitudes.  I haven't played around with the sim too much to check it but the times I have, it has worked well.  If winds are a factor especially a strong tail wind, then VNAV PTH may not be too steep to maintain and honor speed.  In this case you will receive the scratch pad message "DRAG REQUIRED".

Hopefully this clears some things up for all parties.

I have noticed that when I click on the IAS/MACH Selector, I still see VNAV PTH, not VNAV SPD, and the 757 does follow the new speed setting (often receiving an FMC message for increased drag, if I reduce the speed), but it does work for me.

Yes, that's a bug. Thanks, on the list.
