I can not tune the radios

I have been trying to use Captain sim 757 III on FSXSE from FSDT's KLAX to KJFK.  The problem I'm having is that I can not tune the radios from some reason.  The only way I found to manipulate the comm radios was through the FSX ATC window.  I was also trying to use PROATC X if that makes a any difference.

Do you manage to fiddle with the rest of the VC buttons?
I have found that sometimes I find my self "sinking" back into the pilot seat itself and in this situation you cannot activate anything in the cockpit. Once you  move back forward the issue is resolved.
Important to say I use TrackIR.
