It's called JATO, and no, it doesn't seem to works in P3Dv4.

I think Captain Sim would need to upgrade the C-130 X-perience to the 64bit P3Dv4 standard for it to work. And sadly, I really can't see that happening since Lockheed Martin already have the models from CS for P3Dv4, that are included for free. Sad

Now, there are a couple of extra gauges in the KC-130, and AC-130, so I copied the panel.cfgKC-130\panel folder into the CS_EX1_KC130\panel folder, and the panel.cfg from the AC-130\panel into the CS_EX2_AC130\panel folder.
Make sure that both of these aircraft are NOT set to use the EICAS panel and gauges (using the ACE in FSX/FSX-SE) BEFORE you copy them over to P3Dv4!
If I work out how to get the EICAS panel working in the AC-130 and KC-130, I'll let you know.

Tried all the above tips, Mark, but this bit makes no sense. How can I copy panel.cfgKC-130\panel folder into the CS_EX1_KC130\panel folder, and the panel.cfg from the AC-130\panel into the CS_EX2_AC130\panel folder? Where from? Because as it looks to me, all I am doing is copying from the same folder to the same, unless I have totally got it wrong?

Please shed light on this because all my gauges are empty in P3Dv4

The reason I use the LM P3Dv4 C130 gauges (located in the P3Dv4\gauges folder), is because the Captain Sim C-130 gauges don't work in P3Dv4, and the CS_EX1_KC130 (KC-130), and CS_EX2_AC130 (AC-130) have extra gauges. The KC-130 has the extra gauge for the fuel boom operation, and the AC-130 has the extra gauges for the weopons (although I can't get the weapons to work, as the weapon panel master switch doesn't turn on in the CS_EX2_AC130, or the AC-130).

Yeah it is great to finally have this machine back, now we just need the 707 for P3D v4! I miss that!

I've spent the last few days modifying the FM of the '130 so she performs like she should. I have it handling much closer to the book numbers now, including more accurate fuel burns in the cruise and that kind of thing.

Next on the list is a modified autopilot to let me have better control of it in climbs and descents.

Cheers!

Hey everyone.  I'm just now getting around to putzing around with P3D4.4 and I'm having an issue with the eicas versions of the C130.  Specifically, the engine gauges don't do anything.   They just sit at zero across the board, even with the engines running.

Anyone else seeing this, or just me?

Hello,

I'am still using P3D v3.4 + the CS C-130.

Is the model in the P3D v4.3 of the C-130 an updated Version of the CS, or completly new?

How about the VC-Textures? Do they have a better resolution as the CS-Version?

It's an updated version. The panel files used in C-130 X-Perience v1.3 for FSX (which aso work in P3Dv3) don't work in P3D v4.x (64bit)
So if you try to port it copy/install it to P3Dv4, you have to edit the panel.cfg's so they are using the updated gauges of the included C-130's in P3Dv4.

@Markoz, or anyone else that might know for that matter...  Smiley

Is it possible to get the KC-130 refuelling pods (outboard) AND extra fuel tanks (between engine nacelles) on the 6-bladed C-130J model in any way?
Trying to make a MC-130J-ish livery here, but so far I only have the external fuel tanks between the engines...  Huh

I don't think it's possible, as the engines/propellers/refueling pods/extra fuel tanks are all part of the exterrnal model, and the C-130J doesn't have the refueling pods. Also, looking in the Prepar3D v4\SimObjects\Airplanes\KC-130\model.KC-130H folder, there is a single KC-130.mdl, and this does not have the extra fuel tanks.

Even if you have copied the CS C-130 X-perience over to P3Dv4, the ACE  doesn't work, so that's no help either.

Hmmm, ok.
I do still have FSX-SE installed (just reinstalled recently, due to some ill-fated attempts at the B-52 and IRIS A-10 FLIR).
You think it would be possible to use the ACE in FSX-SE, and then copying to P3Dv4?
Or is it futile or could cause bad stuff to happen?

It's possible. For example, I used the ACE in FSX to use either the classic, or  eicas panel BEFORE copying it over to P3Dv4, and that worked as long as I pointed each model to the correct panel of the default P3Dv4 C-130's panel/gauges (the CS gauges do not work in P3Dv4).

However, you still can't use the 6 bladed props on the KC-130

Any tricks to get the ACE working?
Doesn't wanna read anything, or save FSX path. Running as admin, but doesn't help. Also tried running it in Win XP compatibility mode, but no help there either.

I can't think of any. I'm not into messing with .exe files any more (well mostly anyway, but it's been a long time since I last did).
