Hi,
Is there a way to change the default state to be C&D?

Hello!

Now that you can save your own panel states, how can you set it as the default one? Thanks!

A default state is always the state you saved a flight (.fxml) with.

Battery is on for example.

One can't save BATT OFF and Standby Power OFF via FMC because they must be ON to power FMC.
But in the uploaded file whey are edited to OFF.

For when we initially load the plane. The first time it is loaded, the aircraft is ready for takeoff, i'd like to have it cold and dark and with captain view if possible, can we configure that ourselves?

I know i can load the state from the FMC and press "A" once to go into captain view, but it's a nuisance i could (and more people for sure) pass without.

Thank you, very nice job with the 757 and thank you for reading!

Sure:
- While in the 757 load a state of your choice.
- Set a viewpoint of your choice.
- Press ; to save the flight.
Done. From now on the flight will be loaded with the state and view.

Hi

I too am looking for a way to always load the aircraft with a given cockpit state, usually cold & dark. In general I don't start from a previously saved flight, but start from the P3D Scenario screen.

Is this possible?

Yes:

5. Push – sets the DEFAULT panel state loading ON/OFF.

DEFAULT STATE
If a new custom sate is saved/named DEFAULT and the LOAD DEFAULT PANEL STATE option is ON, the custom sate will be loaded as the default state.

Will appear in the manual next update.

Hello:

I'm still confused on how to save "Ready for Take-Off" as my default panel state.  Could you please explain step-by-step on how to accomplish that.

Thanks.

On the CDU, click on MENU > Options (LSK5R) > States (LSK1R) > Then choose from Cold and Dark (LSK1L), On APU (LSK2L), Ready for Takeoff (LSK3L), or click on Custom States (LSK6R) so you can select you own saved panel states if you have any.

ANOTHER Panel State Query

I have made a Panel State that is Cold and Dark. I have set Menu|Setup|Options|Load Default Panel State to On (along with all other Options I want). I then load my Cold and Dark panel state and the view I desire (Capt Seat). I save the Scenario. If I load the Scenario it all works as desired. HOWEVER, I would like to load ANYWHERE and still have the same Panel State (Cold and Dark) and the same view (the view at least works!).

How do I make MY Panel State the Default that loads regardless of where I choose to start?

Cheers

Hazza

Tutorial video: https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cF1vnkFZG2

1) CDU: Menu >> Setup >> Options >> Page 2 >> Load Default Panel State: On
2) press EXEC
3) setup the state of your wish
4) CDU: Menu >> Setup >> States >> Custom States
5) type 'DEFAULT' in scratchpad
6) select line with NEW STATE prompt
7) press EXEC

The above has nothing to do with CAMERA (VIEW) position which is always saved with the SCENARIO (the .fxml) file.

Interesting. How do you perform setup 4 (CDU) if you chose C&D in step 3 which makes BAT off and CDU unpowered?

No power=No CDU obviously.

If you want to set the C&D state as the default state:
1. CDU: Menu >> Setup >> Options >> Page 2 >> Load Default Panel State: On
2. press EXEC
3. Rename a copy of the ...p3dv4\Captain_Sim\757-III\panel\basic\COLD AND DARK.cfg file into DEFAULT.cfg.
4. Replace original ...p3dv4\Captain_Sim\757-III\panel\custom\DEFAULT.cfg file with the file you made in #3.

Ok, this method works. However this C&D state has APU knob at ON position while it should be OFF. Can you provide update cfg?

Try modifying the following entry in the DEFAULT.cfg (or COLD AND DARK.cfg)

From O10_003_GL3=1 to O10_003_GL3=0

I found this entry right at the top of the COLD AND DARK.cfg Wink
