Bought the FSX 707 base package a few months ago and have found it to be visually stunning and very nice to fly.My problem is though that I cant fly it for long multiple legs.I have tried to put in the In Civa panel but alas it has not worked for me.I have a standard gps and auto pilot that I have added to many other aircraft before with no problems but when I add them to the 707 panel CFG It some times affects the visual model.Example the wheels may not show or Auto on the height might work but no navigation.I know a lot of config files will show editable with a 0 being no and a 1 being ok to edit.Not in the 707 config panel and even when I add it doesn't seem to work.Basically only a weekend flier but sometimes I need to go out as would a lot of people.Is there ay way i can just add the gps and auto pilot to the pane confg panel with no adverse affects..Hope to hear from someone soon..Cheers.

To add the GPS, edit the panel.cfg using Windows Notepad.

1. Add the GPS to the [Window Titles] like this:

[Window Titles]
Window00=Simicons
Window01=Animations Control
Window02=CS Weather Radar
Window03=Map
Window04=Autopilot
Window05=Crew Messenger
Window06=GPS

2. Add the [Window06] entry like this:

[Window06]
background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=303,283
position=2
visible=0
ident=GPS_PANEL
gauge00=fs9gps!gps_500, 0,0,303,283

As for the Autopilot, I assume you want to use a different one to the one included in the 707 Captain, and that might cause a problem due to the AP being a part of the cxs701_xxx.mdl file. If you want to try it, you will need to modify the [Window04] entry so that the Autopilot you want to use displays correctly.

Note. As far as I know, the Simufly Delco CIV-A INS doesn't work in Windows 10, so if that is your operating system, then that will explain it not working. Sad

Thanks Markoz.Yeah.I've got the gps in at 6 and can do each leg separately but wanted a functioning modern style auto pilot that will cover multiple legs with out me having to sit through each leg.Have 1 that i got from a warbird install for fsx that has worked sofar with about 30 to 35 aircraft that i have added it to no probs.Replaced the subject code as per windows 4=Autopilot but only auto pilot with height management works.nothing on navigation
or even using manual course correction.Oh well.Ce la vie!!Such is life.Cheers

The 707 will do that without the need for a different Autopilot.

Create a route in the default *FS Flight Planner, save it, click OK to exit the FS Flight Planner, and the route is loaded. When you're ready to track the route, turn the Autopilot Mode Selector knob to NAV (make sure that the Doppler-INS Switch is set to Doppler, but DO NOT turn the Doppler on), and the 707 will happily follow you planned route to the destination.

*You can create a route other ways and as long as it saves them in the default FSX pln format, the 707 will track the route without any problem. I often create routes using FSC 9 (Flight Sim Commander 9.7) and save them to the Documents\Flight Simulator X files folder, and fly them with the 707/

Hey people.Got a new problem with 707.Put in a GPS that shows all points from star to finish of my flight plan.I plan a route in FSX say A,B,C,D,E.Save it.Move to start airport when it asks me.Load up 707.Tale off.All good.Set the onboard  Auto pilot that comes with the 707.cruise to my altitude that i want and set auto pilot,height holder and  turn knob to nav and all is sweet.Follow track past b,c and at D i land.Save flight in fsx cause i have to do something.Come back a little while later.Restart my flight.I'm still at D cause that's where I saved it.Howerer!!the flight plan is no longer there.Regardless of shutting down the aircraft before or not.If anything it only shows a trip between 2 USA airports..Never had any other aircraft do this to me in
nearly 20 years of flightsim flying.Any help or ideas would be great.Reall detracting from my like of this aircraft.

The fliht plan, between KSEA and KSFF, that loads with the 707 is needed so that the Doppler navigation will work properly. Because it loads with the 707, it overrides the flight plan you save the flight with.

Just reload you flight plan, do not move to the original starting airport, AND if you ysed the airport you stopped at as a part of the route, FSX, and more importantly, the GPS, will set the route to continue from the airport you are stopped at.

For exmple. I created a route from YPAD (Adelade) to YBBN (Brisbane), via YMML (Melbourne) and YSSY (Sydney) -I know these are very short legs, but it was a test - and when I reloaded the 707 at YMML, then reloaded the route, the GPS was showing that the flight would do the YMML to YSSY segment of the route next.
Note. I used the Airports ID's themselves as waypoints, and there was no data for the route from the start aiport YPAD, to the first destination aiport (YMML), due to the KSEA to KSFF route being reloaded with the 707 for the Doppler navigation to work.

I hope this all makes sense for you, and helps you to do understand how multiple stopovers for a flight for the 707 Captain work. Wink

Thanks again  Markoz.Understand what your meaning.I'll retry what you did to see what happens.If it works all well and good.If not will just have to do shorter hops and not save or hope the sim doesn't crash on me.lol.Cheers

I usually do a plan for each hop, and save at each airport that I arrive at. then when I restart FSX, all I do is load the saved flight, load the route for the next hop, then check the fuel/pax/cargo for the flight, and off I go.

If I have time to do more than one hop, I pretty nuch do the same thing, and continue on.

Flying from YMML to KLAX, via NFFN and PHNL (or the return flight) is a classic example of my multi hop flights in the 707 Captain.   Grin

Really? Is this not laborious (great word,thx @Google Translate  Grin )?

Don't you include multiple Waypoints in one PLN-File? This is simple done if you drag & drop the course line on the map - i always do this.
