Hello

I am Currently running under the FSX version with 1.33 in use of the Captain SIm 757 III. I have no cockpit sounds for button clicks or anything like that or radio dials and all in all the cockpit is extremely quiet except for when the engines are on. Is there anythign i can do to fix this issue?

As per the Manual: SOUND AJUSTMENTS

Volume of any sound can be adjusted via sound.ini file (located in ...Prepar3D v4\Captain_Sim\757-III\  folder) using Volume= value (0.0 OFF, 1.0 MAX)

Moreover any sound .wav file can be replaced. All .wav files are located in ...Prepar3D v4\Captain_Sim\757-III\sound\ folder.
If you rename a .wav file its File= entry in sound.ini must be updated accordingly

To identify an elements use the layout maps (G.jpg, C.jpg, LR.jpg, O.jpg, P.jpg) included in the 757 SDK.

volume of click-sounds

hello,

I don't know if this was asked already; I couldn't find a relating post:
I feel that the volume of the sound of many switches are not loud enough. In generally I can hear them but to hear them in a matter I like  I have to turn the overall sound very loud. Switching other things like seat bealts e.g. are much too loud then. Is there an ability to increase the volume of the switches (like APU, battery e.g.) without increasing the whole thing? And please don't ask me to edit the sound.ini; there are about 550 entries; without batching it is impossible I'm afraid.

It IS possible. We did it many times.
The idea of the sound.ini is to give a user a tool to replace and/or adjust the volume of any sound in the cockpit as HE likes.

Hm...
I have to check every row because I don't know which line is for what sound, especially files like BUT or GL. Is there a kind of checklist which block (sound.1, sound.2...) is used by which switch? Maybe a graphic ui where I can find a description at the left and a corresponding slider at the right would be very nice but I'm not sure if I ask for too much.

I think that the first line gives a clue as to where the button is:

[Sound.335]
;O01_001_BUT
File=BUT_4.wav
Id=2501001
Volume=0.05

Looking at the ‘757 Captain III’ Manual Part II – Aircraft Systems (CS757CAPTAINIII_MANUAL_PART2.pdf), O01 is the INERTIAL REFERENCE SYSTEM on th OH panel, so that will be the sound for one of the buttons (button #1?) on that panel.

Hello,
for me almost all the sounds are much too quiet.
I have used the "Replace all" function and replaced 0. with 1.
This makes the gear sounds much too loud but they are all together and easily edited back.

I agree with the concept of a sound.ini file but I must assume that the sound developer's PC has a very different sound system to mine.

Flap lever sound

Hi,

I am not sure if the sound is included or not but when I move my flaps there is no corresponding click or clunk which I rely on to ensure the flap lever moved.  If it is modeled is there a way to increase the sound?  I looked for the file in the sound config but could not determine which one it might be.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Todd

Thank you very much for the quick response!  I will edit that entry and download the SDK as well.

Thanks again!
