B737-200 FMC GPS???

Hi all
My first post here, be nice.
I have just bought the CapSim B737-200, and 200F expansion.  I am familiar with another company B737, I like flying Star and Sid.
I do understand that CapSim 737 does not come with an FMC I tried using the GPS, but the garmin that comes with the package contains OLD Data.
So I am wondering now two things. First can we update the data in the GPS, I have asked Navigraph they say no.
Secondly Are there some addons to include an FMC or another GPS?
Lastly, I have seen on youtube that there is an INS system with CapSim but could not find any documentation on it.

Thanks for your help and or comments.

There are updates for the FSX/P3D nav data, but I can't remember the web addresses for them, so you need to search for them ("Google them"). I think that one of the ones I found was free, or at least very cheap, while the other, was updated monthly, so it would require a subscription (like navigraph does), or you can just buy the latest one, and just keep on using that one. If I can find them again, I'll provide links to them for you.

There is an addon that adds an FMC to any aircraft, but I don't have it. There is an ongoing Topic about it - CS737-200 ISG FMS Control Gauge - so you can read up on it, and decide whether to go for one of those options.

As for me, I create a route in either Flight Sim Commander 9, or Professional Fight Planner X, including a SID and STAR, save them as an FSX/P3D flight, then fly them in the 737 using the GPS nav mode.

Thanks Markoz.

I also have Flight Sim Commander 9.6 which is updated by Navigraph. But I am not sure this would work with the 737 GPS, because this GPS is not updated with latest real world Data. When you say 'nav mode' you mean in the B737 autopilot portion do you?.
Thanks again.

When the route by FSC 9.x is saved, all the waypoints are a series of lattitude and langitude coordinates, and the GPS in the 737 uses them to tell it where the next waypoint is located, so it will track the route fine. This happens regardless of whether you use the default FSX Flight Planner, or a different program, like FSC9.x, to create the route.

EBONY waypoint used in a flight plan created by FSC9.7:

        <ATCWaypoint id="EBONY">
            <ATCWaypointType>Intersection</ATCWaypointType>
            <WorldPosition>S36° 10' 56.00",E147° 4' 14.00",+000000.00</WorldPosition>
            <ICAO>
                <ICAORegion>KK</ICAORegion>
                <ICAOIdent>EBONY</ICAOIdent>
            </ICAO>
        </ATCWaypoint>

EBONY in a flight plan created by the default FSX Flight Planner:

        <ATCWaypoint id="EBONY">
            <ATCWaypointType>Intersection</ATCWaypointType>
            <WorldPosition>S36° 10' 56.99",E147° 4' 14.00",+000000.00</WorldPosition>
            <ICAO>
                <ICAORegion>YM</ICAORegion>
                <ICAOIdent>EBONY</ICAOIdent>
            </ICAO>
        </ATCWaypoint>

As you can see, they both have slightly different coordinates (if I'm not mistaken, the coordinates are listed in DEGREES, MINUTES, and 100ths OF A MINUTE(?)), and there is 99 100ths of a minute (almost one minute) the difference, so the 737 will fly from the previous waypoints coordinates, to the coordinates of EBONY as shown in the .PLN file. The GPS doesn't care about the name of the fix/waypoint, only its coordinates.

Yes. That is the free one.

The one that is updated monthly, that you pay a subscription for, was (if I remember correctly) linked to Navigraph in some way. Undecided
