Captain Sim 767 most underrated payware Addon

Hello flight simmers,

years ago i started to fly with FS2004, then FS9, and then FSX

Before i tried different planes and addons for the flight simulator, years ago i very liked the other 737 PIC (pilot in command) and the Boeing 737-300,400,500 the boeing 737 mid Generation.

After some years i tired out the Captain Sim 767 for FS9 and Captain Sim 767 for FSX, and i was very satisfied from the flightdeck, the systems simulation and the very well working FMC.

Why would i say that the Captain Sim 767 for FS9 and FSX is the best addon for me so far?

first: There are a lot of very complex addons like the other series for 737,747, 777 - but other addons (in my opinion) steal too much frame rates

quality wings 767 (i dont like the appearance of the 2D flight deck at all)

PSS or another company 767 (I also dont like i dont like the appearance of the 2D flight deck, or the overhead panel)

At the moment i only use the captain Sim 767 with the addon FS Passengers to perform very realistic flights with the FMC within Europe, for ex. EDDF-LEPA, EDDF-EDDH, or EGLL to EDDF i also have flown a lot in spain from and to Madrid / Barcelona etc.

all in all i would say that the Captain Sim 767 FSX is still for me best payware addon on the market for the boeing 767

- me personally i dont like the Airbus Series: A320, A330 (not in the real aviation neither in the flight simulator)

Captain Sim 767 for FSX offers a very good FMC, which i can programm during flight (for ex. add waypoints, fuel caclulation) the MCP panel works also very well, Autopilot, etc.

My only point for critics is that the EICAS has only some few pages, for ex. no page for the Hydr. Systems, where you can see the hydr. pressure in each system. But all in all the Captain Sim 767 offers many systems and parallel to that a very good frame rate (at the moment i fly the FSX at mid to high settings with Captain Sim 767, at very good frame rates!

i got an i5 CPU 7600 with 3,5 GhZ and 16 GB DDR-RAM, i also have a modern GPU the saphire Radeon Nitro RX 470 with 8 GB GDDR5).

+ i use the frame rate friendy scenery from another company for ex.

german airports 1,2 3
Palma de Mallorca X
Antalya X
Mega Airport London Heathrow (EGLL)

and others

All in all i have a very good frame rate at mid alt, and low alt at the airpots, i got no crashes with FSX.

PS:

at the Moment im goint to use during my flights an extra laptop for JeppView for Windows, in order to quick overview the applicable approach charts and general flightpath / flightplan overview on an extra Monitor.

I agree, I flew it quite a lot on sectors like St-Denis La Réunion-Paris Orly, Hong-Kong-Zürich, Los-Angeles-Zürich, I always had a blast !! Using ASN real weather I remember once coming early in the morning in Zürich in CATIII I used the A/P to land I was unsure this medium complex addon was able to do it - well it did superbly !! I also like the more complex addon but I always return to CS for either 767 or 757 for some trips

I think the CS 767 is excellent.   Captain Sim has gotten away from doing 2D cockpits, but they sure do a nice job on them, and the 767 is an example of that!

The look, sound, and performance are very good.

The only issue I have is that I can't get it to follow the vertical part of an RNAV approach.

The 767 is still my favourite Captain Sim modern airliner. If it can still be classed as modern! Grin

I'm looking forward to seeing the next release when it comes - if it ever does come.  Shocked

I'm quite curious about recent posts "Guess" on Captain Sim in Facebook.
I'm betting that the images are 767 revitalized, I'm also an admirer of the 767 CS, I hope it comes with good systems of the current version and maintain the great quality of friend FPS.

I agree!  I often like to simulate UA int'l flights and miss flying it (ie: ORD-CDG, EWR-LHR, EWR-LIS, IAD-GVA...all presently operated with a 763).  It was a fun aircraft to fly...my only issue was sometimes with VNAV as well, but still fully operable.

Although the latest FB image leads me to believe it's a 757, hopefully they will also update their 767.  Even better, concurrently!  Wink

And, if I'm truly dreaming, someone out there will release my favorite a/c - the 764  Cool

i read the book: "Crowood Aviation Series - Boeing 757 767", first of all the 767 was the first twin engine plane which get ETOPS rating for intercontinental routes in comparison to the L1011 and DC10 it has (now only 2 engines and again reduces the maintenance cost) + at its introduction, has the lowest flight cost and fuel burn (100 km / per Pax), and it has the most modern the flight deck, modern FMC, avionics, failure analysis by EICAS and failure report management to the maintenance crew made this plane very reliable, still the 767-300ER`s good fuel consumption is quite as good as the fuel consumption of the A321 ACF / NEO. All in all the 757 /767 Series by Introduction in service in 8. September 1982 where both ahead of its time, and with the range of the B767-300ER ( with the max. range of 11.306 km) the airlines could now fly to destinations where which they only could reach with costly wide bodies like the L1011, the DC-10 or the 747-200/300.

As it is sad in the book ""Crowood Aviation Series - Boeing 757 767" the A300 has a higher passenger capacity but the 767 (with its later version 300ER, has light higher range + it the boeing Marketing presented it to the customers as the more "modern" airliner, with newest flightdeck with CRT`s and avionics systems).

Now i think that the B757 and B767 where the first widebody mid and long range twin engine aircraft introduced on the market.

btw: I was training with the original Boeing CBT (programm was released in the early / mid 90`s for flight crew training) as a training for the 767 Flight Deck Systems and my impression is, that the FMC and other Systems: Autoflight etc. (except fuel jettison) are very well simulated in the camptainsim 767!

By following the CBT procedures for the FMC programming, you can easy programm the FMC on the camptainsim 767 from beginning (initialisation, setting the IRS, to the of the flight, including change of waypoints and departure airport and runways in-flight).

I would say if you can fly the 767 in Captain Sim and Programm the FMC, IRS, and operate the overhead panel in Captain Sim 757 / 767 you now more about the 767 than anybody else + if you train with the Boeing CBT´s for the 767 Crew Flight Deck and Systems Training for the 767 you know more about the 767 than anybody else except real ATPL pilots, and ATPL Pilots with 757/767 Type Rating.

i got the same CBT Training programm as described here as "CBT for the 767" on this youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fENh9RJKqjs

Yeah. I'd have to agree. It's great. The only issue I have with it is the winglets. I did a flight from JFK to malpensa after I made that trip in real life.

Also Heinrich, technically the 757 is a narrow body. The 757-300 is actually the largest narrow body jet ever made.
I'm not certain if the 767 was the first twin jet wide body but there were many wide body jets after Boeing started that market with the 747. Either way the 757 is my favorite aircraft I have. I've enjoyed many hours on it. I love flying in the real one too. Too bad they're being phased out.

The 757 is not considered a wide-body as it is single aisle. The first short-haul / medium-haul twin widebody was the Airbus A300 they invented this concept.

Airbus invented the short haul/medium haul widebody concept with their A300. Not that it matters a lot but just for info.
