V-One Gauge for B737-200/Adv/C/F v1.8 Update

Print Post
It's been 5 years since I've released the V-One gauge for the B737 and it's time for an update!
While Captain Sim has updated the 737 a couple of time since then, the PDSC isn't fully functional just quite yet.

I've updated the V-One gauge so you can now select Maximum Continuous Thrust climb with de-rate and EPR or IAS cruise.

This gauge has been tested in FSX Acceleration only, it's unknown if it will function in P3D.

Here are some of the features:
- All voice call-out sounds replaced.
- Captain Sim sound module used for all sounds.
- Appropriate labels are displayed when selecting specific display toggles.
- Set flap position with mouse wheel while in 'Current Flaps' display.
- Adjust trim with mouse wheel while in 'Current Trim' display.
- Maximum Continuous Thrust EPR calculated for climb with de-rate option setting (0.0 to -0.15)
- Cruise EPR hold with +/-0.001 adjustments.
- Cruise IAS hold with +/-1 knot adjustments.
- V1, Vr and V2 Datacard calculations display instantaneously when flap lever is set.
- Flap call-out during descent will repeat for flap positions 5 through 40.
- MCT drives EPR bugs while using MCT climb control.
- EPR bugs follow EPR set-point.
- Vref select toggle 15, 30, 40 (30 default)
- Automatic setting of weight, (LB/KG), pressure (inMg/MB) and temperature (F/C) based on FSX units.
- Maximum Continuous Thrust display (MCT)
- Wind display / Maneuvering Speed display.
- Altitude call-out gauge included (optional install).

Now available in the Avsim library, search for:

I found out the IAS hold doesn't work unless you make a change in the aircraft.cfg file.

In the [Autopilot] section, change:

  autothrottle_arming_required=1

TO:

autothrottle_arming_required=0

Thanks! Hope you enjoy the extra stuff!

You don't have to use the new features at all. The gauge still works the way it always did  Cool

Hi Paul,

I've copied and pasted in the Avsim file library, but it says that file does not exist.

Have also searched for V-one gauge, etc...

Could you provide a direct link?

Thanks,
Scott

It works fine for me. It needs the '.zip' in the search term as well.

Anyway, here's the link:

Hi,

Thanks for the link. Actually, I just happened to find the file before coming over here and seeing your message.

Don't know why it  wouldn't work for me. I copied the file name from Paul's post and popped it into the search at Avsim - it didn't generate any results other than a "not found" message.

Anyways, I have the file now, so all is good  Cool

Cheers,
Scott

This little utility/gauge is like having an FO...Who's job it is to prepare the TOLD card in the "real-world"...and do the walkaround in the rain...LOL Actually, I've done many a walkaround in rain, sleet, snow, freezing rain and blazing heat...BUT, it's what we lived for...

Paul,

In the readme file is the following notice:

IMPORTANT: This release of the V-One gauge coincides with Captain Sim's v1.8 of the B737.
In any future release by Captain Sim, the provided panel.cfg should NOT be used!!!
Manually modifying the panel.cfg will ensure proper functionality of the aircraft.

Am I correct that this means that for the 737-200 v2.2 (which I've installed), the panel.cfg(s) supplied with the V-One gauge should not be be used, but the panel.cfg(s) that are installed with V2.2 should instead be modified by inserting appropriate sections from the V-one gauge panel.cfg files?

Any idea if the V-One gauge will work within P3DV4?

Thanks

Yes, that is correct. I don't own P3D and have never been able to test the gauge functionality. I believe many users have had success with installation though.
Hopefully, someone will assist you if needed.

Please make a back-up of the panel.cfg and sound.ini files before attempting to install!

I have v1.8 for FSX installed and do not know if any of the other released versions have changes to the panel.cfg and sound.ini files.

This really is a super addition, the earlier version was good for V1.7 but this one is even better.
Many Thanks for your work on our behalf Paul
