777 radios

I just installed the 777. It all looks pretty familiar except for the radios. I can't figure out how to select com1, com2, nav1, nav2, or adf. The power is on and the tuning knob and transfer button work. The labels on the buttons are meaningless to me and are not explained in the documentation. Can someone please help?   Undecided

In the image above, the green squares surround the controls for Com1. The black square, with the word MIC on it, is for transmitting, and the white button/dial is for recieving.
The red squares surround the controls for Com2. The black square, which is blank, is for transmitting, and the white button/dial is for recieving.

In the image, I have the Com1 set to transmit AND recieve, while the Com2 is set for recieve ONLY (as you can see, it is recieving the ATIS, but the ATC shows that I can still send/recieve on Com1).

The blue circles surround the controls for the IDENT for the MKR. I think NAV1/NAV2 IDENT buttons are to the left of that, OR it is the L, C, R, markings on the same switch as the MKR, and you need to position it to those markings, then click on the button/dial in the small blue circle.

Download the Part II - Aircraft and Systems (csx777_manual2.zip), and you will find detailed info on the Radios for the 777, on page 35.

Your reply is most appreciated, Mark. My apologies for not making myself clear. Let's keep it simple...how do I tune the frequencies for the nav1 and nav2 radios?

Open the CDU, and click on the NAV RAD button. There you can enter the frequencies, and course.

LSK 1L = NAV1 Frequency
LSK 2L = NAV1 Course

LSK 1R = NAV2 Frequency
LSK 2R = NAV2 Course

LSK 4L = ILS Frequency
LSK 5L = ILS Course

Now I'm trying to figure out how to load an FS flight plan into the FMC. I did read both the manuals before asking these questions, and the only explanation I could find for the FMC was a description of what the various buttons are for...nothing at all on actually programming the thing. I use Boeing FMCs on other planes and most of it looks familiar. A flight plan is loaded and shows in the GPS. The plan is saved in the default folder for FSX flight plans. On the FMC I go to the RTE page, press REQUEST SEND and FLTSIM FPLNS, and none of my plans show up. I tried copying the flight plan into the FSX/Captain_Sim/777/Flights folder, but the results are the same. What's the trick?

The CDU/FMC should see, and load, any default FSX Flight Planner flight plans saved in the Documents\Flight Simulator X Files folder.
The other Flight plans that it reads, are the ones you create, or load from the Documents\Flight Simulator X Files folder, and save as a .rt file from the CDU (save routes are found in the FSX\Captain_Sim\navigation\routes folder).

So how are you creating the Flight Plans/routes?

I program the CDU/FMC for the Captain Sim 777 the same way I do it for the rivals 777-200LR/F.

Turned out to be an FSX-SE path problem and had nothing to do with the plane. I can now load flight plans into the FMC. Hopefully you won't hear any more from me. Thanks again.  Cheesy

I'm going to start off with that it's a bit pathetic I have to post 10 times in different threads before I can start my own. I have one specific issue that I'd like to ask, and not take over someone else's issue. Unfortunately that seems to be the way it works here so that's how I'm going to ask my own.

I have an issue with the weights on the 777-200LR for the steam edition. I can load in everything I need on ACE, and see it fill in on the fuel & payload section, however my issue comes with when I use a flight planner tool, I find my weight can be off from 10-20k lbs.

Currently I'm using SimBrief for my planning tool, and have used so for the past two years. Excellent tool I'd highly recommend. However, I have an issue with when I select the PAX and ZFW which does not equal what the fuel & payload says in FSX. I've gone through the aircraft profiles for SimBrief and entered the weights that I can.

320,000lbs: OEW
461,000lbs: MZFW
766,000lbs: MTOW
492,000lbs: MLW
320,862lbs: Max fuel capacity

I've limited the max PAX amount to 301 to prevent any situation where I go above the max amount allowed for ACE. The weight for cargo and PAX transfers fine, however, the information that is being plugged into ACE does not equal what SimBrief is putting out. SimBrief claims that pax weight is 175+55 for assumed cargo.

Is there any way to change the PAX weight for the CS 777 to 230 to equal this or no? I apologize for taking over the thread with this, but imo this is quite a horrid way to force users to do exactly this to get the answers they need.

The only way I know to do it, is to open the aircraft.cfg, with Notepad, and edit the [weight_and_balance] info:
