ACE does not open

When clicked ACE opens to a small black window with a small coloured stripe in the centre...which I suspect is the content.
The small window is connected to the task bar and does not open on the main monitor screen.

Is there a fix for this, it makes the plane impossible to use without ACE being functional.  AV was off when the aircraft was installed.

Try right mouse button clicking on the ACE shortcut, and select "Run as administrator", and see if that makes it appear properly.

System specs can be helpful. Especially Windows version. Wink

Hi-jacking this a little but having the same issue with ACE not opening. Program "opens" on the taskbar and if i hover over the icon i see a small window above the icon with a dash color in the middle. At no time do i see the program open.

Tried running ACE as administrator.

Tried copying prepar3d.exe to fsx.exe

Cleared registry of all captain sim products that i could find.

Cleared all folders related to captain sim.

I have downloaded 777 again with new links, installed as administrator.

The 777 works great in prepar3d v3 but the ACE is the issue.

Running windows 7 64 bit
Intel i5
8Gb Ram
GTX960

Can't think of anything else, but any ideas on what i can try next?

Thanks,

Andrew

Try the following:

1. Right click on the shortcut (START > All Programs > Captain Sim > 777 Captain (Prepar3D v3) > ACE) and select Run as administrator from the list that pops up (it should be the 2nd one down from the top).

2. Right click on the 777 Captain Base Pack installer (csz772_1700.exe), and select the Run as administrator option. Select the Repair option. It might be worth turning of your Anti-Virus program, or the shields, before installing.

Note. If the first option gets it working correctly, right click on the ACE shortcut, select properties from the list that pops up (it should be the one on the bottom), select the Compatibility tab, look under Privilege Level, and checkmark (place a tick in) the box beside Run this program as an administrator, then click OK. It will always open with administrative privilege.

I'm at a loss as t why yours isn't working properly. Mine opens like it's supposed to, and it changes the aircraft.cfg (in, for example, P3Dv3\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B777-200ER_GE) when I click on save.

Which version of Windows are you using? If you're using Windows 10, then it might have something to do with that.
