Mark,

After the mess with my HDD, I need to reinstall my 777 (-200 and F) on the new HDD. What is the right way to do that? Is it necessary to install V1.2 and V1.3 first? Undecided

Thanks.

Kai,

It is not the case for me that, once having installed the CS777 Version 1.4 into P3D v2 using the Estonia Migration Tool, certain exterior lights work when running P3D v2 in legacy mode.

The lights in question are the wing lights (nav, wing and strobe) and the tail lights. Moreover, the beacon lights do work but are extremely faint. Although this does not detract from what appears to be most people's experience of a greatly improved and enjoyable virtual flying experience with the 1.4 update, I would be grateful if you kindly confirm that all such lights are working in your simulation and whether any special tweaks were required to achieve this.

I have read on the L1011 forum that special measures were required to get similar lights working with the L1011 on P3D, e.g. reloading the vehicle ( I have tried this with the CS777 to no avail).

Your comments would  be most welcome here, please.

Update to the above. I have just installed CS777 1.4 on a Windows 8.1 machine in
P3D v2 and the lights work correctly. I am now debugging my Windows 7 installation of P3D v2 to determine why the issues with lights persist there.

just seeing in the shop that a native P3Dv2 is available. I experimented with the FSX-version.
I wonder if it is possible to get this version with a discount or even free of charge.

1.4 is a full installer, so backup any 3rd party liveries, then uninstall v1.2/1.3 and then install v1.4 Base Pack (777-200) and then install the Freighter (1.4 download needed for the 777 Freighter). Wink

Have purchased the P3Dv2 version of CS777 and am having problems with the speedbrakes. You cannot seem to arm the speedbrakes at all. Use of the Shift+/ keys extend the speedbrakes fully and does not arm them.

I shall be interested to know if other people take the plunge with the dedicated P3D version and experience the same issue.

Otherwise, I guess that the requirement to use the FSX version in Legacy Mode is as good as a thing of the past, as far as CS777 is concerned. I do hope I can get the speedbrake issue fixed as I'm beginning to like the CS777 a lot.

I can also add the fact that the chronometer and brake pressure gauges do not display properly with the P3D version.

Just checked out speedbrake arming in FSX with the FSX version and the same issue exists in FSX with the 1.4 update, i.e. the speedbrakes do not arm.

Am I simply trying to do something that cannot be done arming the speedbrakes on the ground with engines running, or is this a bug?

After further investigation the speedbrakes do arm in flight but not on the ground and the chronometer and brake pressure gauges do actually materialise correctly after a period of time.

As a footnote, it is possible to arm the speedbrakes on the ground with the competitor aircraft, but I'm not sure which model is truer to reality, although I cannot see any harm in the ability to arm the speedbrakes on the ground, e.g. in the event of an aborted takeoff.

I'll do a test of the P3D version. I do not recall seeing those problems on mine.

I'm using the 777 for P3D and I like it in P3D v2. Performance wise? The same as it is in FSX as far as I can tell.

I bought the P3Dv2 version too. The difference to the FSX-version may be small, under the hood. Using the fsx-version the sim crashed to desktop after clicking the terrain-switch. Now everything is okay.
The brakepressure gauge works for me. The amount of changing if I press the pedals is very small! From 3.2 psi to 3.0 psi is the varying amount and I have to stay at the brake for about a second to see it. With the speedbrakes I have the same behaviour too: on the ground the lever goes to full brakes but in the air I can arm it. It's okay for me.
A very nice plane, I like it very much! No comparison to the first versions delivered. But: during descent there is no deviation point beside the altimeter tape to watch if VNAV works correctly or if I have do make some inputs. Is there a hint to make it visible or is it a bug? It would be very nice to have it!

Here is the difference between the 777 panel folder both FSX (left side) and P3Dv2 (right side):

Notice that there are a lot less gauges in the P3Dv2 777 panel folder. Wink

You can arm the spoilers on the ground if you apply a little bit of throttle, but you get a red visual and an aural warning. The aural warning can be killed by pressing Master Warning/Caution Reset Switch. Smiley

Yes there are differences in both the gauge files and the switches/buttons in the VC (I think), but beyond that, I don't know.
Only you can decide whether to get the P3D version or not. Undecided
