Travolta's V-JET Lands at Captain Sim Airport !!

Breaking News :  Cool John Travolta's Boeing 707 V-Jet lands at Captain Sims Airport.

OK- so I found this V-Jet paint, but it wasn't for the Captain Sim FSX Version, so I adapted it to make it work, BUT, I wasn't happy with the interior !

So, I took all the interior files and repainted them to kinda fit the 707 Jetliner for the Era, the 1970's era.

Kinda came out alright, some of the photos I lightened up so you could see them easier, in the Dark Passenger area, its not really as Bright as the photos suggest.

Theres a some screw ups, but you'd have to really look to notice them.

Things I Changed or Repainted as follows :

1- the Table in the Lounge
2- The picture in the lounge area now has a Flat Panel TV, showing John Travolta, in the movie "Urban Cowboy" 1980.
3- Curtains are now Red in thru-out the galley.
4- some wall paper above the seats in the lounge with a world map.
5- Carpet in the lounge area is now 70's Disco Red kinda .
6- added Ashes inside the Ash tray on the table in the lounge area.
7- Main Galley area now has Red Fabric seats, along with Stylish Red Carpet on the floor.
8- Rear Seat Trays are now simulated Wood Grain.
9- Overhead lights in the ceiling now have a wood grain trim ring on the outside, with a Gold Trim.
10- Restrooms also have red carpet and wall paper.
11- All Galley Bulkheads now have 70's style coverings.
12- Bulheads in Galley have Quantas V-Jet 707 photos Framed on the Galley walls.

**Also caught up with the BeeGee's 707 Jetliner from the 1979 World Tour - Stayin Alive !

That's about it for Now for the Travolta 707 V-jet  / Jetliner.
it now resides in my FSX Gold/ Acceleration edition.

total time to repaint: about 14 hours.

Nice screenshots JetRanger. I don't know about you, but I converted the John Travolta livery for the Legendary 707, for my 707 Captain.

Great job on the interior too. Looks great. I promise not to bother looking for any mistakes in the textures, I'd rather see it for what it is - a nice touch up of the 707. Wink

Ya that's what I did too, changed the file names to make it work, glad it did !!

Now I've only got like 70 more Jets to repaint interiors on, each one different.

some are 707's, the 727's and the 737's.

think it'll take me a while each one has to be unique depending on the livery the era etc.

I've got a Jetliner load of Textures to use that are real fabric textures, not some paint.

lotta resizing, cropping and making them work.

Also gotta love that Clone brush tool, makes things a lot easier.

there will be more in time.

tad bit time consuming painting all these !

That's a lot of work. I know I couldn't do it, or it would take me a lot longer. That's because every time I start FSX to see what they looked like in the model, I would not be able to stop myself from doing a flight! Shocked Grin

HAHAHAHA

Trouble is my middle name, so only I can keep me out of it.
As for the Topless Bar, I can't remember when the last time I went to one, but I have no doubt it was some 24 years (or more) ago, when I was still single! Shocked

Ya, I was a 12 Year Veteran of those Clubs back in the 80's & 90's, since I bought this house in 2000, I kinda stayed out of em', that and I took up this Flight Simming hobby in 2002.

Amazing the amount of money I saved, well kind of, Buying payware Aircraft & scenery and Computers.

lot less Drama and hassle anyway, 707's & 727's don't B**ch and have attitudes, thankfully !

my Aircrafter utility now says I have 4,867 Aircraft in my FSX Gold Simulator  Huh  Shocked

I must be nuts !  Undecided

Dunno' if its a hobby or I turned into a collector ??

You dropped one vice for another. A lot of people do that. Like I quit smoking, after more than 40 years, and took up eating instead. My weight went from about 60 kilos (132 pounds) up to 73 kilos (161 pounds). So now I am fatter, but probably healthier. I now only have the occasional cigarette. I also shouldn't "talk" about smoking, because that always makes me want to have one. Shocked

I do not want a utility to tell me how many aircraft I have! Only about 4 are freeware, the rest I have bought. I have a specific folder in Outlook that only has receipts for products bought for FS9/FSX. It is a big folder, and I have spent a small fortune on addons!

Collections !

Ya but, this sure beats what we used to do as kids, putting together model 144 scale Plastic Aircraft, having to buy Paint & Glue and wait for parts to dry.

Then Hand Fly them to no-where really, and they'd end up sitting on a Shelf collecting dust or get broken.

and we never ever ever ever never got to actually sit in the cockpit and fly or make switches work and lights come on' - or landing gear go up and down and have stewardess call etc.

Only ATC ya had if ya was lucky was a radio tuned to an ATC Channel, while you hand flyin around the living room. Undecided

This sure beats all that and I'm NOT waiting for parts to dry and I never ever run out of Glue !  Roll Eyes

The cool thing, they always look good and never collect Dust !  Cool

Aside from having a slightly expensive computer I'm happy !

I get to fly anywhere in the world anytime, anyplace, and I never have to buy FUEL !!  or pay landing fee's !  Wink

in the winter time when its cold & snowy out  I can stay inside for weeks, and Fly the Tropics, and pig out on my home made cookin !

I've done 16 to 18 hour flights before when it was to Cold to be outside, throw logs on the fireplace, kick on the Blower and I'm warm as Toast, when its 10* degrees out.

Model Planes , what were we thinkin ???? Grin

Not mine. All of my Airfix models got blown up with fireworks (penny banger/ha'penny banger)! I would spend hours gluing  and painting them, then hand flying them. Then I would put them on a shelf and a few weeks later...KABOOM!. I'd blow the crap out of them. If I didn't blow them up, I set them on fire with metho! Either way, they didn't last very long.

Worst part was that I had some really nice ones. A C-47 "Puff the Magic Dragon" Gunship (with 3 Gatling Guns). It was given to me by a USAF airman, a friend of my father, who he serve with at Ubon, Thailand in '66. I loved that plane, but within weeks it was destroyed. Same went for my beautiful Hawker Hurricane (it was a larger model than what I normally got), which I spent weeks on building and painting. A few weeks later...KABOOM!...it was nothing but melted and mangle plastic. For some reason, it's what I did from the age of 10 until the age of 16. Every single one was destroyed. One time, I set fire to model, but it wasn't burning fast enough, so I grabbed the metho bottle and threw some more at it! WOOSH! My brother, who was standing nearby got his eyelashes, eyebrows and fringe singed (long hair was the fashion in the mid 70's), and he was jumping around, turning in circles and screaming about being on fire, so I threw him on the ground and told him he was only singed, not on fire (he was 11 and I was 16 at the time). Man it was so funny to watch him carrying on like that. I had hysterical laughing fits every time I thought or talked about it. I still do. Gee I'm mean.

Don't forget that that was back in the days before the PC!
I first bought FS2.0 (SubLOGIC) back when I bought my Commodore 64 back in '84! Boy. It sure has changed since then!

if only i'd known then what I know now !!

and the internet, whats that ???  in 1980 we'd thought it was some kind of Fishing net to catch things with.

Downloading ??? whats that a new Drug ??

Ohh well, live and learn.  Cool

Hello.

I have flown the 727 since the end of 2010, and now I'm thinking of buying the 707. But the 707 without the Travolta's V-Jet "is not complete".

Although appears a V-Jet texture for download on the Captain Sim website, the information "Page can not be found" appears when attempting to download it.

Could someone please tell me if there is any alternative texture to download?

Best regards

Hi Christiano.

I have redone the Ed Knapp repaint of John Travolta's 707 Qantas V-Jet. You can download it from here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/z4ievblg6dtz8sg/John%20Travolta%20707%20Captain%20FSX....

NOTE: ALL CREDIT MUST GO TO ED KNAPP, NOT ME! Wink
