Any Way to Export Flight Plans From New Planner?

There's a new flight planner out. It includes support for a couple of Boeing seven-series aircraft, but not any published by Captain Sim. Has anyone figured out how to export routes that are compatible with Captain Sim? You can export to FSX, then import via the FMC and save it as a company route, I suppose, but I would rather have it go direct.

You mean PFPX? Yeah, Mark tried to help the dev on this issue and I hope he (dev) makes use of that help soon. As long as the CS format isn't available, your import mentioned is the only way to make it work. And that's with the soft already being advertised as one supporting CS planes. Lips Sealed

Yes, that was a factor in my purchase, so I'm not very happy. And they still have Captain Sim mentioned in their product description. Instead they just have another 757. This is false advertising pure and simple.

Without divulging private correspondence, I think they got the message.

The better and more experienced the lawyer, the less he actually has to do. I am working toward the goal of flying airplanes all day and opening Word to draft the occasional document. If I can get one of my sons interested in law school, then I won't ever even have to go into court. I call it the "Dread Pirate Roberts Effect." If you ever saw The Princess Bride, you'll remember the Dread Pirate Roberts was actually just a brand used by pirates who weren't nearly so dreadful as the legend. I think of myself as "The Dread Lawyer Capps." I have crafted a very good reputation I do not want to risk by actually doing anything!

Seriously, I did not threaten legal action! I did use my professional honorific in a firm yet polite email to management. I received a prompt and courteous reply which gave me a choice of two options. I did not choose the refund.  Wink

New version out... No support. That was disappointing, especially given some other choices. Guess we'll wait some more. Huh

Tim if I fly an unfamiliar route in the 757 or 767 I use the built in planner and zoom right in so I can see intersections and jetways.

Then drag the magenta line to the required intersection/airway and I have my route. Save it and it shows up as a CO Route in the FMC.

What those guys are doing is letting money walk out the door. I won't be buying it in it's current state and after 6 weeks of being notified still have done nothing to remedy the situation.

Lawyers and I aren't great mates at the moment. After receiving a bill that was 200% higher than the original quote!!! Grrrr!

I only do flat fees. No surprises. Plus, since I only do criminal defense, I get all my money up front. People headed to prison could care less if they pay their lawyer!

It is a nice program... probably the nicest I've seen. Too bad.

I like it over FSC9.x, but I still wish it exported to the Captain Sim 757/767 as they had advertised when I bought it.

Has anyone else notice that they no longer say it exports to Captain Sim 757/767? It looks like they don't want to include that capability any more. Shocked Sad

I'll just go ahead and say when they gave me the choice of getting a refund the other option was to wait for Captain Sim to be included shortly per the dev. So I have to think they are working on it unless the dev is misleading another company. But right now, I have exactly two airplanes this does me any good for. For those it is great. It does not support the other 767 in FSX, either. But it DOES support the other 757 (which overspeeds on the climb unless you fill it up with fat people and lead bars, so it's in "time out" too). Does anyone know if the other 767 (which has a .rte file, I think) and our Captain Sim airplanes use the same format? I think it is weird that they would not support the FSX model since it has a cult-like following. Oh well... never a dull moment in this hobby.

This seems to work for PFPX flighplans exported to Documents\Flight Simulator X Files. Once you do the Compute Flight in PFPX it can be exported to Microsoft Flight Simulator X (FSX) which is under Add-On in the PFPX - Route Exporter. The file exported is in the pln format so it needs to be brought into the 752/767 CDU on the Route Page using the Send>Request, FLSTSIMPLNS routine as aussie has described in his 757-200 tutorial in the 757 forum.

I just had PFPX generate a route for KTPA-KPHX that eventually ended up in the leg pages by using the above method.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too. If it accepts FSX plans then surely it should accept one that is directed to use the default FSX format.

That's a workaround though, the developers still need to attend to it.
