Just bought this plane, of course I have some questions..

What's this Crew Messenger 2D panel for exactly?

Is the bottom row of buttons suppose to do anything?

What is S/O stand for?

I'd post a pic but I'm not allowed yet.

Whoa, hold on there.

Seems this Crew Messenger thing is suppose to be a voice checklist but I am unable to get it to work.

Has anyone gotten this to work?

Quote:
Press Shift - ~
The Shift - ~ (SHIFT-TILDE, the top left key on the keyboard below Esc) starts the voice
package set. This will be different depending on what country you are in! I am not
familiar with other keyboards used so please find out for yourself how to perform the
same function. The SPACEBAR will advance some of the dialog by making changes that
you would normally have to do manually like setting the flaps for takeoff.
Now that you have pressed the Shift - ~ the Before Start Checks will begin if the
parking break is set. The Before Start checks will sound like this:
FUEL QUANTITY ---------- Checked
BEACON ---------- (PRESS THE SPACE BAR!) On
PARKING BRAKES ---------- Set
DOOR LIGHTS----------Checked…
PACKS ---------- Off
GALLEY POWER ---------- Off
BOOST PUMPS ---------- Set
PNEUMATIC PRESSURE ------------ (PRESS THE SPACE BAR!) Minimum for start
BEFORE START CHECKS COMPLETED will be shown in the text box above. If you
don’t see text during the check, press CTRL - ~ to enable text.
For reference, these are the items changed when you hit the spacebar above.

Firstly. To get the crew messages, and some other sounds, working, I have to reload the 727 (every time) I use it in FSX (and P3D). Give that a try and see if it gets them working..

Secondly. I don't know where you got the info on them being a voice checklist, they aren't. The crew messages are the announcements by the Captain and Stewardess. They are as follows:

Top Row - Captains messages
Button 1: Welcome Message
Button 2: Ready for Pushback Message
Button 3: Arrival Message
Buttons 4 - 6: INOP

Bottom Row - Stewardess messages
Button 1: Welcome Message
Button 2: Refueling Message
Button 3: Safety Briefing Message
Button 4: Night Takeoff Message
Button 5: Departure Message
Button 6: Turbulence Message
Button 7: Descent Message

Hope this helps.

EDIT: I think there was something, like what you have quoted (in your second post), in the Legendary 727 for FS9/FS2004. I don't know for sure because I never bought any Captain Sim products for FS9. Undecided

I was quoting from "Mike Stinchfield’s CS Legendary 727 Professional Flight
Tutorial V2.1" pdf file.

I guess I assumed CS would retain this nice voice checklist feature into its next product.

Shame they didn't really, it sounds really neat.

Agreed. It would be nice if they had kept it in the 727 Captain. Undecided
