The WXR is ON by default. Use the LEFT tilt button, on the Aft Aisle Stand (see the ‘777 Captain’ FLIGHT MANUAL Part II – Aircraft and Systems (csx777_manual2.pdf) page 129: P20. WEATHER RADAR PANEL P20), to adjust the angle up or down until you see the green/yellow/red of the weather (depending on the weather conditions).

Using "fair weather", you should only see green, but switch the weather to "building thunderstorms" and you should see all three of those colors. Wink

If you are using real weather (like AS2012/REX), then you need to find where there is bad weather to test the WXR. Grin

I usually use a negative tilt more than the pitch angle shown in the PFD during cruise (about 2.5 degrees up) so a tilt of -3 or more, depending on how far ahead you want to look, should work.

In ascent an even more negative tilt may be needed so you are not pointing the radar straight up into the upper atmosphere. In descent, a zero tilt, or even slight positive tilt if the PFD attitude bar is well below the horizon (in the brown), should work.

Also remember that, just because you see clouds it does not mean you will see radar returns. Radar senses precipitation (water droplets and hail) not fine cloud condensation, so you need to find an area of precipitation to see it working (as Markoz says, somewhere stormy with active thunderstorms or showers).

...And "The Other Mob" say you can't have a working weather radar in FSX. Pfft!

Well done CS!

Even if it isn't what those other devs consider to be a "true" WXR, Captain Sim's have the best WXR of them all (in my opinion).
I also have the stand alone CS WXR and I have added that to quite a lot of my addon aircraft. Wink
