Takeoff Speeds

Hi All!

Apologies if this one has been asked before, but I did search under VSpeeds, V Speeds, Takeoff Speeds, Speed Tables and Takeoff Reference on the advanced search, all to no avail!

I'm wondering if anybody knows where I can find a Takeoff Speed Reference to give me V1, Vr V2 on this plane for different weights, flap settings, temperatures, etc. I have only recently purchased the 737-200 and also got the 100 and 200AVD at the same time, but can't find mention of V Speeds in the manuals (any of the four). There are detailed sections on take off procedures which refer to the V speeds by name (e.g. V2) without providing a table of figures to know what this speed would be.

I know there are plenty of you who like to keep things real as possible and I aspire to join your ranks some day... so what do you guys do to find your V Speeds for this plane?

Any enlightenment would be most welcome!

Kind regards,

Adam

Brilliant! Thank you - Just the job! Do you know if this can be installed into the 737-100 also? Naturally the take off speeds might not be quite right, but they'd be a better guide than what I currently have from the top of my head!

Thanks for taking the time to develop and point me towards that!

Sure, you can give it try. I've never tried it myself so I don't know how far off it'll be. Let us know how it works for you.

I will do - thanks - will probably be a couple of weeks now though as the annoying requirement of working for a living has kicked back in, unfairly impinging on my FS time (and other less important considerations such as family life... :p )

I'll report back once I've had a go.

Kind regards,

Adam

Okay... So I tried it in the 737-100. The gauge (graphics etc.) work perfectly. The speeds generated worked fine for take off and landing also. If you're a true perfectionist you might argue that these aren't the CORRECT speeds though... but for somebody who loves simming and doesn't actually know what the correct speeds should be, they work just fine!

As an aside, I am not able to hear sound from the gauge. Not sure if anybody else has had this issue? I have read previous accounts on here and these seem to mention an error / windows error 'ding' noises... I don't get these. I get no errors at all. And no call outs either! The click spot for the sound check produces no sound either. This is the case for the 737-200, ADV and 100. Has anybody else come across this or have a fix? I've double checked my file edits and they seem to be as per the instructions (and I've done it twice now, once for 200 and once for 100, so unlikely to have made the same error twice unless I'm misunderstanding instructions!).

Any ideas appreciated! Brilliant gauge though - even without sound.

Kind regards,

Adam

It's good that the graphics are working for you.

So a few things to check:
Are you installing to FSX with SP2 or Acceleration?

Check spelling in the [VCockpit01] section in you panel.cfg:
Code
Select All
gaugeXX=dsd_fsx_xml_sound!Sound,2,2,2,2,.\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B737-200\panel\V-One\V-One_Sound.ini
gaugeXX=dsd_fsx_xml_sound!Debugger, 420,550,600,80

('XX' is the next available sequnce numbers)

Check for the V-One Gauge sound files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Sound\V-One folder

Please check for the dsd_fsx_xml_sound.gau in your C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Gauges folder.

If it is there, search for dsd_fsx_xml_sound.gau in you FSX.cfg file under the [Trusted] section. If you're using Notepad, press F3 to search for any duplicate entries. Delete all entries.

Save the file, and run FSX again. If dsd_fsx_xml_sound.gau is loaded into FSX, you should be prompted to accept the gauge.

Thanks Paul!

Sound now works fine! For future reference the problem was that I copied and pasted the lines in the code section you posted in your previous reply from the PDF Readme file originally. When you copy and paste these two lines from the PDF into notepad it actually changes the code so that the end of gauge18 line becomes:

VOne_Sound.ini

instead of:

V-One_Sound.ini

Having copied and pasted it, I assumed it couldn't possibly be different.

Trust a man with an IT degree to ignore the "DO NOT cut and paste this section" warning because he knows better...!!

Much appreciated,

Adam
