No Tape-style engine gauges for L1011-Panel?

Hi Captain Sim,

with pleasure I noticed you are developing a L1011 TriStar package which you are advertising as much different compared to a recent release of another publisher.

However, according your preview screenshots I cannot explore an optional Tape-style engine cluster this other developer is offering. The tape panel was very common on L1011 TriStars and used by LTU, Eastern, TWA and many more. Hope you will model these gauges seen on the attachment.

Second remark: The L1011 was very unique at its time as those aircraft already had a kind of Flight Management Computer which was connected to a Performance Management System. You can see the CDU on the lower left and right on my screenshot aswell.

Is there a chance to model those systems aswell? As you know, seeing a difference to others also means being better in sytem depth.  Wink

Some of the 727-200's had the same PMS (performance management system) as the L-1011.

I hope, as others have stated, that the DLC is modeled correctly as well.

First class was wonderful in the L-1011. The center groups of seats would swivel around and the center divider would fold into a true table for four.

It also had a two level center galley. Two small elevators would ferry the food carts up and down from the lower galley.

Oh-yes, tape-style engine guages would be mandatory..
Unless you plan liveries from carriers that that only preferred round engine guages?

Other than that, I really like this exterior model. Especially, as it appears from the screen shots, that you got the pearl-gray right on the Landor BA colours, and not plain white as on the "other" Tristar offer available now for FSX.

Hi Captain Sim,

I push this topic up again as the Base Pack is out now.

So my question to you: Are there any plans to model a Tape style engine cluster aswell in further releases 1.1 or 1.2?

I second that question from BodoM - as you already supplied a LTU Livery it would be very nice to have tape-gauges, as LTU only used tape gauges on their Tristars!

Not only LTU, also Eastern, Saudia and TWA used Tape Gauges.

I'd like to see the tape gauges too.

As one who was an FE on this aircraft, I can tell you the tape gauges were harder to read than the round dials (Delta).

Many times while instructing in the simulator, I saw engine failures given and the students reacting to the wrong engine! The tapes are so close together, determining which engine failed was not easy to do.
