777 Tutorial

Print Post
Greetings Captains,

A tutorial has been published on my website for those who would like some guidance/help going from a cold and dark cockpit through to programming the FMC, setting up the AP and preparing for push, engine start and working through the electronic checklists.

Its designed for those who take a more relaxed approach to flying as it doesn't follow 'correct' procedures, but it certainly works for me and I am yet to experience any problems configuring and flying this wonderful aircraft.

Because I cant post links yet (not enough posts) if you Google ARNZX the first site listed in search results will be my website.

dub dub dub dot flightsim dot com.

Hope its of some help, happy flying Captains.

Hi ARNZX.

Sorry, but I've had a busy week with family (too many birthdays at the end of March and the beginning of April) and so I have not taken time to check it out yet. I shall do so, as soon as the time allows. Wink

This is excellent, Jon! The clearest and most thorough explanation of cold-n-dark start-up procedure I've seen. I also picked up a few helpful FMC tips along the way, and corrected a couple of "bad habits." Smiley

I highly recommend this tutorial, and look forward to Part 2.

If I had one wish, it would be for a smaller pdf. Reducing the output resolution to 150 dpi might cause a big size reduction, with minimal reduction in viewability.

Thanks guys.

@Daryl, I'm saving into PDF directly from PowerPoint so my options are limited, what I can do is s save 2 versions, the second will be 1/3 the file size but not as clear.

Excellent piece of work, and I love the "All Blacks" livery even though I'm a Springbok supporter. Great job ARNZ. Would also like more info on this EFB thing as I'm clueless.  Smiley

Someone else ask a while ago, so I uploaded a copy to RapidShare: https://rapidshare.com/files/2155790904/777_Tutorial_Pt1.zip

It's ARNZ's tutorial and not mine. Wink

I'm having trouble starting the engines on the 777-200, what am I doing wrong?  I have the Cap Sim 757 and 767 and I can start those.  I was following the instructions and N2 would not increase.  I have bleed air going to the engines and fuel pumps were on.  Is there a secret?

You need to press CTRL+SHIFT+F4 (Mixture (full rich)) before they will start (or make sure the default flight has the mixture at 100%).
