747-200

I think there should be absolutely no doubt as which should be the NEXT.

There isnt a proper 747-200 addon. The only one is CLS which is an old FS9 adapted to fsx with blurred small graphics in VC

Another reason is that the 747-200 is still flying, mainly cargo and some airlines.

Another reason, the 747-200 was for decades the TOP airplane in this planet. Any airline that wanted to feel pride should have one.

Another reason is that the 747-200 is one of the long lasting models, together with the 737-200 and the 727, no other model from Airbus or other manufactured lasted for so many decades.

Another reason is that the 747-200 has one of the safiest records, and any human being that has lived for half a century and boost himself as a frequent flyer or with many passenger hours in his life, would know how much the 747-200 icon has been a presence in the aviation environment.

I am sure Captainsim can find a 747-200 cargo plane to visit and take as model for the next addon. If this isnt going to be the choice, it may be for lack of a possibility of accessing a real one, but there is no other model that can beat the 747-200 in terms of filling a void in FSX

I agree.

Base back could include 747-100 & 200 which have only relatively small differences so only minimum amount of extra modeling would be required between them. Then I could see 747-300 as an expansion and 747-100 & 200 and 300 Cargo models as one expansion too.

I think this would be absolutely the best way for CS to go. 747 classic is one of the most iconic and important airplanes in the history of aviation and also still widely used today.

In my opinion CS has always been best at making classic birds with all those classic style instruments, 747 classic would suit that too.

The only competing 747 being the one that you already mentioned CS would also get pretty much all the market share, I don't think any developer is currently working on new 747 classic other than CLS updating their old one and it will still be far away from CS quality.

very much agree!!! classic 747 is the only way to go for CS imo. Having said that...there are multiple posts with same goal in mind...no need to start new ones.

You are also forgetting the lovely SP!!!

Here is one of my favourites and I would love it if Captain Sim

IF Captain Sim does do a 747 package my humble suggestion would be to do it in the
following format. Wink

Captain Sim  747

Classic

Base Pack - 747-200
Liveries = SAA 1980's, Qauntas Late 80's, BA Landor, British Caledonian, Lufthansa 70's

Add-On - 747-100
Liveries = BOAC, PAN AM 1980's(large letters) TWA 1990's, American

Add-On - 747-SP
Qauntas (70's), PAN AM 1970's, Iran Air (Modern), SAA (1970's)

Add-On - 747-300
Liveries = SAA 1980's, Qauntas, Swissair Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific (1980s)
KLM, and KLM 747-200(SUD), JAL, ANA

Add-On - 747-200F
Liveries = Seaboard World, Flying Tigers, Lufthansa Cargo, JAL Cargo

Once you have done the 747-300 it makes it a lot easier to make a 747-400

Base Pack: 747-400
Liveries= BA (Union Flag), Lufthansa, KLM, Cathay Pacific, Northwest (1990's)
Transaero, Quantas, SAA(1980's)

Add-On: 747-400F
Liveries = Cargolux, Emirates, BA Cargo

Add-On 747-400SR
Liveries = ANA

You could even go for the 747-8 as almost all the visual elements are there!

Just my humble opinion. In truth it is likely that I will buy whatever Captain Sim
does as they are one of only 2 add-ons in my hangar. The other company makes
light aircraft.

Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool

and others are upgrading it as well. at first i wanted CS to do the 400 too but its not necessary now.

don't forget about the 100F, I really want the Flying Tigers cargo jet. The SP would be very nice too.

a CS 747 Family could be a great product for CS with plenty of expansion possibilities.

very hopeful we will see them all.

Yeah 747-100 and 200 in base pack, then 300, cargo versions and 747SP as expansions. That would be great.

Making -300 as expansion pack should be relatively easy it shares mostly the same cockpit and systems with -200, however -400 would require completely newly modeled VC and systems.
