Sound Set

I was reading on another forum that the CS 777 only features the TSS GE sound set for both the GE and PW engines. And we have to purchase the PW sounds from TSS.

Is this true? Do we really have to buy those sounds from TSS?

Haris Baig.

The Captain Sim 777 doesn't have any models that use the RR engines, so there is no need to buy that one. As for the TSS 777 PW and GE sound sets, this from the 777-200 >> Overview: Authentic sound set (TSS $12.99 value)
So as you can see, Captain Sim provide a set of engine sounds done by TSS, but I don't know if it's the full TSS 777 engine sets. I would assume that it is if it has a value of $12.99.

Markoz, as you are a user of the 777, did you notice any difference  in the sounds between the GE and PW model?

They both have a different spool sound.

A user reported on this forum that the VNAV is operating well on the -300/-300er. Has the VNAV been fixed?

Haris Baig.

I haven't flown the PW model many time (probably only a few times), so I don't know.

So far, in the two flights I have done in the 777-300ER, VNAV worked quite well (it climbed, but didn't obey the 250 knot speed constraint for below 10000 feet). At least it didn't go into descent mode! Wink

Oh yeah! no more descents!

I am also waiting for the VNAV to be fixed as i am planning to buy a 777. And 2 developers are making it.

Hope fully Captain Sim will fix the problems and it would be a great addon.

How is the fps impact Markoz?

Haris Baig.

I have a really good computer (i7 3770K CPU), so I get good fps with it. Like all Captain Sim aircraft, their beautiful textures drag the frame rates down. At KSEA, using "fair weather" during the day, with my sliders quite high (not quite maxed out), I get 20-25 fps in the 777 VC. So I'm very pleased with its performance.

The sound is a custom made sound by TSS , but it is not a HD version.

The 777 sounds on the tSS pages are NOT 100% compatible with the CS 777.

TSS however will release a HD version in 2013 which is going to be compatible with the CS 777.
That is what I heard from Christoffer Petersen.

Me either. I think the sounds for the 777 are great, and they are definitely good enough for me. I won't be spending another $13 - $14 dollars to buy the ones from TSS.
