I wouldn't focus on that one thrust value in the sim. This leaves out how e.g. the drag is modelled and how the thrust relates to the (sim) fuel burn. So it's not like you would just enter the rw thrust values and be a happy pilot. Well, unfortunately not.  Undecided

The trick on modelling a good sim flight model is to work around some FSX engine limitations and quirks. By this, the thrust value is one factor in a bunch of.. many. Take the air file for example.

i have been working off of some real take off charts that boeing has and with 19,000lbs of thrust its taking off way to soon and there is no way that in real life that you would cruse at 33,000 feet with only 70% N1 at over 100,000lbs GW with the 737-200

as for the fuel burn i have it fairly close giving Boeing's weight to range charts that they have. the hard part i have is that i don't know how much reserve fuel Boeing was planing for in there range charts.

and with the thrust set to 14,500 it climbs much more realistic as compared to the NGX, it can ezly make it to 33,000 feet Evan 35,000 feet witch is its max alt

Paul,

1-"No wonder it doesn't work...this is a Prepar3D installation! The dsd_fsx_xml_sound.gau is not compatable."

Ok. I continue use V1-One without sound. I am not going back to FSX

2-I'm not sure what you're trying to show with images
I was showing to you,V-One installed accordingly.  Cheesy

3-Will you do Sound gauges for Prepar3D?

I think Pauls gauge is of great use, even without the sounds. By this, I just wanted to drop that he may have no control over the dsd_fsx_xml_sound gauge development as that's from another author (Doug Dawson). http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fsxgau&DLID=158634
Don't worry, it's meant to be used by other talented developers like Paul. It supports FS9 and FSX. And the idea, the concept on the 737 and the sounds are all from Paul.

The differences between FSX and P3D aren't that big, so I doubt that huge problems cause the incompatibility. It may just be the version string or the wrong name of the flight sim process to trigger such no-go events. As I saw, it uses Simconnect and, as P3D features a slightly different version, may fail to initialize or find the spot to actually start working.

Well, you can write the author if you like.

you need change this in the CFG

[TurbineEngineData]
fuel_flow_gain = 0.002                          //Gain on fuel flow
inlet_area = 19.6                               //Square Feet, engine nacelle inlet area
rated_N2_rpm = 29920                            //RPM, second stage compressor rated value
static_thrust=14500      //23000
afterburner_available = 0                       //Afterburner available?
reverser_available = 1                          //Thrust reverser available?
ThrustSpecificFuelConsumption = 0.515             //Thrust specific fuel consumption (Jets)
AfterBurnThrustSpecificFuelConsumption = 0      //TSFC with afterburn/reheat engaged

you need to change what i have hilghted to .51-.52

It may be useful to move FDE mod questions to another topic as this one is about the V-One gauge from Paul. Just trying to avoid that folks read a lot of technical data which, so far, isn't regarded by Paul's gauge. I know that he only supports his FDE data and the one from Bud (http://captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1339198966).

By this, maybe your mod is supported in the future. But as long as this isn't the case, it may confuse the readers to discuss it here. I hope that makes sense.  Smiley

You've posted in the topic regarding Bud's FDE mod, Ahmet.  Undecided Ryan's is here. http://captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1354222724

I have it installed on the C/F and it seems to work fine.

The gauge will not give proper v-speeds for the -100 though.
